Wow stoppit, thanks for the recommendation! I've tried MAC perep and prime, Smashbox and Philosophy and none of these brands seem to help my foundation stay in place. My face looks great when i leave for work but come 1.00pm i look like i've spread vaseline across my cheeks. I've got pretty oily skin too so i will be ordering the one you've mentioned.

I have oily to combination skin and I use the Laura Mercier oil free primer. But here’s a video by Lisa Eldridge that I found very helpful:

hey brummie,
seriously, it’s great. i personally apply it with a flat foundation brush. but even when it’s really hot, this product is so cool and you can see it mattify instantly.
I bought mine from screenface - price is reasonable compared to elsewhere.

i just bought something called facial prep foundation base, is that the same as primer? googling the answer didn't help b/c some use the two interchangeably some don't....leaving me confooosed

this may sound totally weird, but I use: Monistat anti-chafing powder gel as my skin primer...after reading great reviews for it online, i bought it at target, and it works just as great as smashbox primer, and since its not meant to be used on the face, did not cause me to break out at all...it goes on really well, and works great as a primer for a foundation, oh and its only like 6 dollars! this is such a cheap trick, u guys should try it! theres tons of reviews on it online

Stoppit, u are a star:) I ordered the primer and got it on saturday and its fantastic! i know its only been 3 days but it does seem to be working. My face would be an oil slick by lunchtime but thats not been the case so far. My makeup is still in tact and no greasiness, wooooohooooooo.

We have a new girl working with us who is from China. I took her with me to the MAC store last week for their 20% off day and was very surprised that she went from not wanting anything to letting me suggest her a foundation, brush and eyeshadow. I tried to get her to buy the primer as well as her nose gets very shiny but I think it was too much for her. I'm gonna make her read this lol.

Laura mercier products are really good, I have yet to come across a better primer/concelar than this line. Smashbox/Chanel/clarins have been a total disppointent so stay away from these and get hooked on Laura m :)

^^ so true! i hated smashbox photo finish, it was a total waste!! Wish i would have got laura marcier been hearing good stuff about the products of LM..but i guess i need sometime to save up for it as smashbox wasnt cheap either:(...What did u dislike of Chanel? i was thinking to check out their foundation..
