Best wedding you've ever been to?

Well it depends on every family, all the people in the UK aren’t exactly the same  Most the walimas in our family start around the same time. 4pm might sound insane but considering the packed schedule I think it was a good idea  Our mehndis start around 6,7ish and as for the actual wedding day that really varies the earliest one would have to be 5pm lol There’s a Kashmiri wedding coming up that we’re going to i’m not sure what time that starts at :hmmm:

Re: Best wedding you've ever been to?

my best friend donya's: coming from one huge memon business family and getting married to the owner's son of the other (think LAWN), the wedding was probably the most ostentatious I've ever seen. The bride coming in a Rolls phantom and the ruksati in a helicopter. Sushi as part of the food and 12000 guests with a shamiyana that was fully heavily embroidered to cover the whole area. Even bunto kazmi outdid herself on her outfit. Ive been to many amazing weddings before and after, but this one took the cake,

The second best was a wedding of the daughter of the richest indian in south africa, which explains completely how it was:P beautiful lakeside barn venue next to a forest with the reception inside the barn and great hors d'oevres and mocktails throughout the day with the bride killing it with an Oscar de la Renta gown. Some of the "dholkis" leading to the event even included themed parties with themes like "grease", "70's" and "mooch nahin tau kuch nahin". Crazy stuff but great wedding, enjoyed it like anything!

Re: Best wedding you've ever been to?

wow you've definitely been to some A-list weddings!

I see the ostentatious weddings now and the glam has some how dulled, everyone is doing the same thing, and over doing it! Although I myself will probably fall into that trend, I now actually appreciate the weddings that are done on a low budget but still manage to feed everyone. Where the imam talks and the bride groom actually know the guests to their wedding, till date i don't have a fave wedding or the best wedding, because everyone seems so strained tired and stressed. The day I see a laid back wedding I'd pin that as a good one.

anyone been to a wedding where everyone wasn't so high strung? is it cus the numbers were low?
