I hope you are doing well. I’m new to this Forum but have been browsing it anonymously…I’ve actually viewed almost all the posts about wedding venues around the Islamabad Area on here. This is where I have been doing all my research. Great forum. I look forward to participating on here…

Basically, I need help choosing a suitable wedding venue for a Walima function in April (2 months away). I’m looking for a really good one - with your help :slight_smile:

ABOUT ME:

I’m a British Pakistani male - 24 years old, and I live here in the UK. I love Pakistan though!

I’m getting married in Pakistan in April Inshallah (exciting - yes!) and am already engaged…

CAN YOU HELP ME?

I basically want to know what the BEST wedding venues are around the Islamabad/Rawalpindi area? And when I say best I mean best…

My standards are really high, and I’m open to any venue…as long as it is a great place, and you have been there and can compare it to other places…

WHAT KIND OF PLACE?

Well it needs to look amazing both inside and outside. Great decor of course, clean area outside, and great food!

It needs to have space for at least 250-300 people.

MY RESEARCH SO FAR

Ok so as I’ve been doing research on this forum, and have been looking at the following places:

Marriot
Serena
Paradise Complex
Regalia
Pear Continental
Margala
Best Western
Royal Castle
Topi Rakh
Islamabad Hotel
Royal Palace…

Have you been to any of these? Are there any other nice places I am missing?

I want feedback from people who have been to one or more of the venues on my list. Which ones do you think are the best? Which ones would you recommend the most?

I would greatly appreciate any help.

we have decored Sareena and PC, Sareena is far batter then PC, Marriot also have good reputation.

Paradise complex isnt bad but the way you want things its better you take the options already mentioned, i too had one of my wedding functions in islamabad i choose khiva cause i got customised options like i wanted!

The hotels are a good option less hectic, if you are up to it islamabad is gorgeous find a place and get it customised! According to your dream / taste! But yeah your options are the best there are available!

This is another option, rather than go for the big Hotels...looking at Marquees and venues too

These seems to be the best ones: Khiva Lawns, Avalon, and Haveli

They all seem great too, and we could customise them to a high standard.

Anyone else any experience with these?

Could you please share what serena got back to you with. I am going to get married in December 2014 In Islamabad going from the UK and I will also be having around 300 guests so it would be really helpful if you share the information and quotes you get from the different places. Thank you.

i am giving my opinion based on my experience only as i have covered many functions in those places.

The best are Sarena Hotel, Paradise complex and Khiwa marquee. whereas PC and islamabad hotel are fair enough.

marriot, serena or khiva! i had my wedding functions at khiva so had them all customised!

So I had a list of about 15, only 7 emailed me back with a quote. Unbelievable really...what's the point of the email/contact form? This would never happen in the UK. Their loss, guess business will go elsewhere ;-)

To those who asked, Serena is way more expensive than others. It's in a different league...like double price of others. It takes 2 minutes to email them, they get back to you quick..

Anyway, I've narrowed it down to Khiwa and Paradise Complex right now. Serena looks cool, but my parents are like save money puttar!

If you have any other suggestions, you can still mention on here. ^^ may not even be available on my dates

Serena is amazing! I've been to many parties there! It has a really royal atmosphere :)

By the way guys, which venue looks better on the outside and is in a better area - Paradise Complex, or Khiva Lawns?

khiva lawns..it has the margalla Hills as a backdrop! paradise complex is on the pindi highway

Hey everybody - great information here. I'm also in a similar position. Looking to hopefully get married in Dec in Isloo/Pindi. Currently living in Canada as is my fiancé.

Can anyone please tell me which marquee-type venues also have hotel options close by? Having a hotel within walking distance to a marquee hall would be ideal and the best of both worlds! But I don't even know if this is available. Any insight here would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the suggestions. Mariott seems to be fully booked and Serena is out of our price range. I have heard that the PC is pindi has a marquee style hall attached to it. Is this true? I have tried to reach them about it, but have not been able to find information just yet.
