Hi friends,

What is the best application to use for web development (Frontpage, others)?

also, is Flash Web development good and worth an investment in buying the software?

Flash: depends on what sort of application are you making

Application for web development: I would recommend Dreamweaver (it has both basic and pro modes) but if you are tight on budget then i suggest any decent freeware editor will do the work, if you wanna hand code stuff..

Also, alot of these decisions depend on the "web application" you are making.. :)

I dont know Swish is still around and operational if it was .. otherwise for Flash based WEB development I'd recommend Swish.

ah, didnt read that, in your case Frontpage would do just fine. Its very weasy to use and you can make pretty nice, profesional looking websites with it.

If you are not familiar with any application I would suggest starting with Dreamweaver as its easy enuff for new users and its features are rich enuff for experts (as you learn). Frontpage is outdated (there's a replacement application out, I forget the name).

As for Flash, its not that difficult to learn but there definitely is a learning curve. Try out a trial version from their website to get a taste of what it entails. If its just simple animations use Swish as Najim suggested. It should do the trick.

Depending on what do you need to develop (and how quickly) and what are the budge constraints, you can use any of these

ASP, PHP, JSP, Cold Fusion, Flash etc

and for environment you can use

Dreamweaver, HomeSite, Visual Studio, Eclipse etc

If you just need to make a static web site for Masjid, use FRONT PAGE and create HTML pages. FRONT PAGE is really intuitive and easy to learn. It has a MS OFFICE like interface that gives you a jump start.
