Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

I use Vaseline now and then too, it's really good for removing makeup and conditioning your lashes. also if you combine a loose pigment with Vaseline you make it into a cream eyeshadow.

Andrea Eye Qs are a great product and something I like to keep handy because it removes primed eyeshadows and liquid liner very easily.

Lately i'm been somewhat lazy, especially at night. Cleansing cloths can remove all of your makeup. With the temperature heating up I like to keep some of these handy in my purse to wipe my neck and arms on really hot days that I'm walking out and about. I discovered this was a great way to cool off and to keep handy when I visited Pakistan a couple summers ago. It's also been great on my skin, and it too can get off primed eyemakeup but it takes a little more effort than the andrea eye Qs stuff.

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

I hate petroleum based products for the face or eye area. And I hate oil based eye makeup removers as they leave a oily but drying film.

I use a sensitive eye makeup remover (oil free). After putting a few drops onto a cotton pad, I put a drop of olive oil on top (I keep it in a pipette bottle). I use this to remove my eyemakeup. It does a good job. Recently, I have been trying out the castor oil for lash grow suggestion. I put a drop on a q-tip and run it along my upper and lower lashine and waterlines - this seems to get rid of extra gunk.

If you are going to wear eyemakeup and remove it, it is inevitable that you will loose more lashes. So my personal aim is not to use anything too harsh and keep the skin of my eye area in good condition.

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

Olive Oil is possibly the best and natural makeup remover. Apply a few drops of olive oil to a cotton ball and dab it around the eye. It will not only be a gentle makeup remover but will keep your skin nourished and supple too..

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

GiGi - Antioxidant Skin Care - GiGi Antioxidant Daily Facial Cleanser

I usually wear non waterproof mascaras so they can wash off easily at the end of the day and I don’t have to rub too much.

The cleanser above is one my sister picked up from Sally’s and I happened to try it one day when I couldn’t find mine at night.

It took every single bit of makeup off…my eye primer, shadow, gel eyeliner, mascara, all of it. My face felt really soft afterwards too. I use this daily now at night.

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

Nothing works better than good ol' Vaseline for me. Besides, it's cheap...I can't complain.

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

thanks ladies for ur input.. i have tried olive oil thing but at the end it leave traces under the eye which is really hard to remove i then usually rub with the face wash which is *not good for the eye area *.. i thin i need to be MORE gentle

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

That's why I use olive along with eye makeup remover. On a daily basis I wear mac paint, udpp, eyeshadow, fluidline, shadow on my lower lashline, 2 coats of mascara on top lashes, 1 coat on bottom. I never rub, hold for a few secs then swipe. I put more of both about twice to get everything off. After cleansing and washing the rest of my face, if there is any more residue it comes off with the witch hazel and rosehip oil part of my routine.

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

I just use nivea eye make-up remover and its work perfectly fine for me. I dont have to constantly rub my eyes. I just swipe it over my eye and all the make-up is gone!

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

Whatever eye makeup remover I use, I soak a cotton pad with it and leave it on my eye area for a bit. Then I gently wipe and it comes off without my lashes falling out/tugging my skin too much.

As for leftover residue under the eye (usually happens with eyeliner and smudged eyeshadow), I soak a Q-tip in the eye makeup remover and roll it under my eye/wherever there is leftover makeup. It removes everything.

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

after you remove your eye makeup, put a little bit of castor oil on your lashes...castor oil makes hair thicker and longer faster, and it will hopefully stop the lashes from breaking! plus it keeps it moisturized too. you can youtube the wonders of castor oil, thats what i did :) and i dont know if i am being 'paranoid' in a good way, but i think my left eye's lashes grew a bit! i sleep on my right side, so the right eye's oil probably got wiped :P

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

oh and also, after you're done removing your makeup, you can always put some glycerin+rose water on cotton balls and clean your whole face with it! it takes away any remaining residue, plus its super hydrating! i've heard you can add lemon to the mix as well, but i bought a bottle that already had both rosewater and glycerin combined, so i didnt bother

Re: Best way to remove the eye makeup?

I use Bioderma and soak a cotton pad and hold it over my entire lid + lower lid (a round cotton pad does that on its own) and I gently wipe it off. This is perfect for sensitive eyes because I soak an ear bud and run it on the waterline to remove makeup from there as well. For waterproof mascaras I apply KissMe Heroine Make Mascara Remover. It is AMAZING because it's manufactured to remove Japanese waterproof mascaras so US waterproof mascaras are a piece of cake. It's like an oil in a mascara tube and you coat your lashes and let it sit for 10 seconds and it dissolves the mascara completely. I then wipe it all off with Bioderma.

If I'm feeling very lazy one day and I'm not wearing waterproof mascara, I just use Purity facial cleanser which removes all eye and face makeup without drying out my face.
