Re: Best Washing Detergent????
yup tide.............me 2
Re: Best Washing Detergent????
I don't stick to any one in particular, keep switching between the popular brands. They all work the same for me but then we are just two adults and hardly have to deal with stains etc.. The only tough part is cuffs and collars of hubby's shirts and no detergent gets rid of it on it's own so I just use Vanish cuffs and collar spray for that.

MM,
Here is something I do, I use shampoo on my hubby's collars and cuffs and do a lil scrubbing before putting them in the washer... gets rid of all the oils..and Allah knows how much oil is secreted in the hot weather of the gulf.... works great... if not just use the detergent and a lil scrubbing action gets the collars and cuffs all clean :)
Re: Best Washing Detergent????
^automne, the great thing about the Vanish spray for cuffs and collars (or Oxi spray) is that there is no scrubbing involved :)
There are 5 men in my family and when 3 of my brothers were all at school (new white shirt everyday), you can imagine how many loads of just shirts needed to be done each week. I don't wanna think how much time me or my mum would have had to spend scrubbing.
Re: Best Washing Detergent????
tide (liquid)
Stoppit
I tried them to but the stains didn't come off... is there a specific way you guys do it?
tide (liquid)
same here
Hmm.. not really ![]()
Just spray the collars and cuffs about 10 mins before putting in the machine. I also put the powder into the load for during the wash.
It has even got out blood stains from their shirts.
Re: Best Washing Detergent????
No powder detergent. Ony liquid and mostly Tide.
Re: Best Washing Detergent????
wow so many tide users
i have realized after moving around most of my life, that no one detergent wins each time
in arabia, we use ariel powder, gel doesnt work on stains
in pakistan we used tide cuz ariel couldnt get the stains out
in denmark, we use bio tex cuz neither tide nor ariel work here .....
i think it has something to do with teh water. we have HARD HARD water here so much so taht we have to put an anti lime solution everyrtime we get the washer going else it will get a buildup in just one go... so going from that, i also think that the hard water has to sit right with a detergent to work properly
i was dumbfounded when i who has been using snuggle and downey softener my whole life and worn such soft clothing, came to this country only to have neither of the 2 work for me!! clothing came out rock hard.
so water also makes a diff.

Renewing the Thread after Year :halo:
So I am living in Islamabad here water is very very hard, on boiling, too much lime extracted from water. What washing powder do I use???
Re: Best Washing Detergent???
I read it as brain-washing liquid somehow
Re: Best Washing Detergent???
on a second thought, I wish there existed one ![]()
Re: Best Washing Detergent???
Using liquid for last 1.5 year. I use OMO, its a very good detergent. For the collars and cuffs of my husband’s shirt I use the pre vashing spray Vanish usually or there is a homebrand one also available. For me it works very well
