What was/were in your opinion the best thread(s) ever in religion forum…if possible kindly give reasons for why you choosed the thread …
This may help other fellow guppies as to decide what level is requird by the admin to post here..what are the ethichs to post good reply…what are the ethics of disagreeing with others..waghaira waghaira..
Any thread that showcases the ill percieed superiority of one faith over another is pretty good, also those threads where circular logic reigns supreme are pretty gaddamn good. Not to mention, the one about "whether chewing gum and walking at the same time is haram."
I think bao, common sense and respect is the answer.. I am no mod or admin I am just a lowly guppy but that is my opinion....
I have seen guppies who go over board "protecting" and "justifying" Islam and Muslims and start to insult other religions and sects, using offensive tactics... what do you expect in return?
On the other hand I have also seen the other extreme where some non-Muslims and some Muslims feel no hesitation posting insults or using insulting language for the Prophet (PBUH) and Allah (SWT) and Islam in general... and I have seen some very objectionable posts recently insulting the Prophet (PBUH) and those posts went un-noticed. But should the response be equally offensive? If yes then it is a war and everything is a fair game.
If both sides were to keep the respect element alive in these discussions and also accept the fact that not everyone is like me and believes in what I believe and that is ok, I don’t think we will be in this situation. I like to think that mostly guppies are mature adults and it is time that they show it.
Most of these so called “discussions” are pointless arguments that go no where.
Any thread which isn't hijacked by those who have no idea what they're talking about and having nothing to contribute to the thread except the display of their own ignorance and stupidity.
Best threads could be those that have inputs/replies from guppies like bao bihari, Lajawab, Islamabad, Anwaar Qureshi, armughal. There could be some more, but usually I like their posts.
and not to forget mAd_ScIeNtIsT very knowledgeble and balanced posts.

I think the best threads would be those whereof people learn how to gather evidences in support of their views and how to logically explain them as well as those that explain how the real world works so that people are more able to understand things and become more and more independent thinkers. This will help them become critical analyzers of the issues that are raised in this forum involving ideologies, politics, societies, cultures and economics etc.
If you help your children understand how their toys work that helps them figure out how the major things in the world work as they grow and so they are no longer easily persuaded by superstition and learn to look at their problems in life in a sensible way and so they are likely to cope with life better. Such people are more likely to be more independent as well as reliable.
People who do not understand machanisms of life, find life very difficult to cope with and being simple minded always look to others for dependence like babies look for their mothers. They develop victim personality and blame others for their own mistakes and try to hide from problems. They think that if a hungry lion comes to eat them, by shutting their own eyes they can make the lion disappear so they will be safe ie that way lion will not be able to eat them because it is not there any more when they shut their eyes.

Not a bad idea, though I have a suspicion he will actually enjoy it.
Anyway, in my view all threads are good that make us learn something new. Whether its something we agree with or disagree with is not that important. The opportunity to interact with people with different views, to present your viewpoint and listen to their view point, that makes for good discussion.
At the same time, let me also make a comment of what I feel are bad discussions. Thats where instead of presenting your viewpoint and commenting on others, the discussion focuses on personal insults, mocking and pseudo-anger. Also repetitive arguments do not add value. Its just wastes bandwidth and our time.
Anyway, in my view all threads are good that make us learn something new.<<<
To build up on what Faisal stated, I would like to ask Bao what has he learned about Islam (or anything else) from coming to this section. Or whether he comes here to learn or to teach?

I think THIS Thread](http://www.gupistan.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=137948#post2243806) has far more effects on many people here. Although opened by myself, I beleive the contents were purely given by ALLAH:swt: to all of us and HE made me a source to share this with all of you. Millions thanks to Him alone.
Whenever I read it (and I am sure whenever any God-fearing of you read it or will read it) reminds me of Aainaa-e-Aiiyaam maiN apni adaa dekh!
Wa alikum Salam
I really doubt if I can pin point one pertuclar thread which has out beaten all others. I think it would be ver difficult for almost all of us. However personally I come here to learn and I’ve learned from various threads. So I cant actually tell where I learned more or where was it less for that matter.
Are you a father, or is it just your observation and findings.
If you ask me in particular, I like** Anwar Qureshi's , Bao Bihari, Ravage, Ibn-e-Sadiq, Islamabad,ARmughal** and whenever Faisal bhai opens up a thread. I always find something to learn from these people threads.
As a general rule, go for thinner threads and needles when working with lighter fabrics, and thicker threads and needles for heavier, sturdier fabrics...
