Assuming you are talking about the Grey series.

I've read all three, bought the books after hearing all the hype around it but did not really expect it to be "erotic erotic".

I think the grey series/ erotica becoming so popular is just a one time thing. The first book in the series was interesting , second and third loose out a bit coz it just more sex.

However it wasn't a vulgar or repulsive book. I did enjoy reading the first book.

Thank you for your input payal but I wasnt expecting a review on the Grey series nor was I referring to it in particular. I was rather referring to this new trend of too many of these r in the market and the focus on sex in society. Erotic literature is definitely not a masterpiece of written works, in fact, majority of them have poor vocabulary and grammar so I believe this is another one of those tools for dumbing down of the people.

I was referring to this report I came across in paper regarding this issue....it mentioned various books. I think the reputable authors just wouldn't choose this topic because they don't need to...so that's why it's rare to find a well written book in this genre.

Maybe its just the trend in the 21st century literature basically. Maybe because 21st century itself is more about sex than anything else :bummer: Thanks to Freud and all. There is much of “bold” literature included in the present curriculum all over the world in the universities. You just dont have choice if you really want Literature to live out what it actually is i.e. the mirror of life. Such trends are purer for the sake of interest when it comes to the taste of a common reader. And hence the erotica. I can still never trade anything for harry potter series. :blush: :vivo:
