Please, please, please need help. Everytime i go to Toronto, I usually end up picking the wrong restaurant. Only Lahore Tikka house worked last year on Eid.
But this weekend I need help! Please help me find the best place to get halwa puri preferably near Scarborough, and good Pakistani and Hakka Chinese anywhere in GTA!

There is no place to sit and eat like “eat more”
classy setting and awesome food, never seen a Pakistani place like that.
I ate champs and karahi… I was surprised how good they were.
You owe you self to be there at least once.
Try tabaq break fast, and their other dishes cooked by women very awesome food.
Tandoor time is good for sharp taste and their kababs etc…

Had burgers at Affy’s ( in Pickering/Ajax area ) about 4 years ago, little expensive, but very good.

Halwa puri at Tabaq is good, I get it only because it’s fresh. Other food from that place, man, it use to be good but recently it’s stale every time I/family bought it!

Lahori tikka house, BBQ tonite, Asian Wok n Woll, Eddie’s Wok n Woll, Paramount, Nandos. Depends on what ya feel like i can tell you.

Lahore Tikka House is over-priced, and they get u to eat in styrofoam plates/cups. Plastic spoons/forks, what a disgrace.
If i am going to pay over 10 bucks per dish, i expect proper cutlery not this plastic garbage.
Other restaurants we like in scarborough are: Tabaq Restaurant (they make good nan/roti, chicken roast), etc, on Danforth Rd
Silverspoon on warden/ellesmere is good, and price is reasonable (though they raised prices recently)
Shaheen Tikka on overlea is good near DonMills/Overlea.
If you like really spicy, try Desi Taste on Markham Rd near Eglinton E (near the Batala Supermarket store), its a small take-out place, no room to dine-in…
Nandos is like fast food so not really a desi restaurant…
if you’re at Gerard St, give desi burger house a try. they got spicy dahi bhallay, burgers, chaat, etc. (be prepared for indifferent attitude though, staff not so welcoming with smiles, its like a chore for them now that the place gets business)
The tricks at most of these restaurants is to order the chicken dishes. A lot of times, the beef/lamb dishes, despite being expensive, turn out to be mediocre in taste and tenderness of the meats, and the portions are reduced/small. Not worth ordering the lambs we found.
For the few times a year if we eat out, we now order chicken dishes, order the kebabs(lamb if available), etc. It works out better as there is no big disappoinment…
