Best possible XI for next 2 games

Malik >> Sharjeel

Bhatti >> Junaid

  1. Ahmed Shezhad
  2. Sharjeel Khan
  3. Kamran Akmal
  4. Umar Akmal
  5. Mohammed Hafeez
  6. Shahid Afridi
  7. Sohaib Maqsood
  8. Umar Gul
  9. Saeed Ajmal
  10. Junaid Khan
  11. Zulifqar Babar

For both games, imo this team is the strongest possible combination that Pakistan can field with the players they have got in the squad. Ideally I would have Fawad (not picked) and Irfan (injured) in my playing XI.

Bhatti needs to improve his bowling for sure. His length is usually erratic (cf. Tanvir) plus he is a liability in the field
BUT On second thoughts I would probably stick with him (instead of Junaid) because he can bat (although his batting is just marginally better than Tanvir’s) as well and adds much needed depth to our unpredictable, fragile batting

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

If you are okay with erratic bowling then I'd suggest Anwar Ali, at least his fielding is better and batting may be equal to Bhatti.

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

Anwar Ali is not in the current T20 squad.

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

Why do I think I saw him as substitute in one of the games here?

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

Talha's selection for T20 makes no sense. imo Fawad and Anwar should have been included in the squad instead of Malik and Talha

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

The one you suggested is fine but can kamran bat at no:3 n hafeez no:5 as sook as their number change they dont know how to play even if opener get out earlier hafeez is not able to bat at no:3

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

Malik and Bhatti out....... Sharjeel and Junaid in

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

I am not sure what can Junaid too in these pitches, he has been horrible as of late :bummer: Junaid Khan has been minnow-blaster in T20Is so far sigh… may be he will click against BD.

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

Against BD, open with Shahid Afridi and Sharjeel. Get a good run rate in that game as it could be helpful. It sounds crazy, but he can smash BD bowlers early on and maximize his potential.

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

^ afridi se opening nhi honi

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

The line up is fine but I would have kamran open instead of Sharjeel and send Sharjeel one down.

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

Bhatti's confidence is really low but Junaid's form hasn't be that good either. I would probably stick with Bhatti against BD. Poor guy deserves a man of the match award.

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

Completely agreed. Now Sharjeel cant bat at middle order so you have to try him at number 3. with hafeez at 4 and Umar akmal at 5. However, the caveat is umar akmal is really doing good at 4 but we should hope that wont matter much to him.

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

What's up with Razaaq...you think its over for him ? He's done ?

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

I know he is not a part of this squad but just asking ?

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

I would not tinker with UA's batting position as he is doing well. It might upset his confidence and rhythm. #4 suits his style of batting

Razzaq deserves another chance. Not sure what his recent form is like though.

I agree.

This should be the batting order

Ahmed Shehzad
Kamran Akmal
Sharjeel
Umar Akmal
Hafeez
Sohaib or Afridi (depending on match situation)
Afridi or Sohaib (ditto)

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

I totally agree with the team suggested above. Sharjeel should be in the team. He and Ahmed Shahzad has been a good opening pair for Pakistan in the past few tournaments. Together they give the team a good start plus both have a good chemistry going as opening partners.

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

Osman Samiuddin is as perplexed as the rest of us about Malik’s exact ‘role’ (if any) in the side

“Nobody seems to have a real answer to why. I’m not sure whether Mohammad Hafeez has been specifically asked the question, but I’m certain he’d say something unprofessorial about Malik bringing a lot of experience. To which would be asked, of what? Five Champions Trophies, one World Cup and four World T20s of not really doing much?”

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

Yousuf makes the most sense imo

Shoaib: :smack:

Bhatti >> Sohail Tanvir

Ahmed Shehzad >> Sharjeel

Miandad:

stick with the same XI that played against Australia

Yousuf:

Malik >> Sharjeel

Bilawal Bhatti >> Junaid

Sikander: :smack:

Malik >> Sharjeel

Bilawal Bhatti >> Sohail Tanvir

Re: Best possible XI for next 2 games

I would drop Sharjeel Khan & Junaid Khan for the rest of the tourney…

Shoaib Malik should be cool for the rest of the tourney…can spin an over too…

Gul is good for at least 2-3 overs…should be retained…

Bhatti is good for 2 overs + he can bat a bit…

4 regular spinners: Babar, Afridi, Hafeez & Ajmal should spin the bulk of the bowling…even their maximum 16 overs if they have too…

The batsmen should avoid the dotballs and play some 18-20 balls each with some care and hitting…

The captain should not wait too long for the things keep going like Maxwell hittings…take some damn action to engineer a wicket…hmmmmmmmmm

Pakistan should enter into the Arena with some flexible plan & design which could be adjusted ***a la carte ***on field should the things go against the original design… :jhanda:
