Hey have come to karachi after a long, long time and need some guidance from all my brothers and sisters here.
Can anyone tell me where to:
Find some night life in karachi : Can’t find anything beside a dirty beachview or seaview and eating places.
A good restaurant where i can take my extended family out for a surprise dinner. Preferably in defense. Recommendations so far are a place called flo, and pompie (i think)
A place to find some good quality kurtas and kurta suits without too much embroidery: Many are citing a place called gold spun on zamzama, amir adnan and junaid jamshed.
Hey thought i'd post what i found for anyone else searching for what i was:
*Night life in karachi *:
Non-existent. There is nothing much to do besides roaming in seaview or boat basin. If you want to go to a beach then try french beach, though you will have to know someone who has access to a hut there. There is a also a new cinema featuring 3d movies that opened in saddar. I think it is called atrium. Will try to give it a shot this week.
*A good restaurant : *
I think eating out at a good restaurant in karachi is more expensive than in new york. If you want to go to any upscale places on zamzama then consider : the food is good, the bill obnoxious but what pissed me off the most are the food proportions. I mean, i had to go back home and have a second dinner. But i had fun with the family.
Kurtas and kurta suits :
By far and wide, it was gold spun on zamzama. I tried four, five shops in zamzama and all had good stuff, but I ended up shopping there. Very good range of fabrics... definitely recommended.
Other things to try :
I found a very nice strip of restaurants at the end of seaview serving bbq and chicken karahi stuff. The location is right on the sea and the setting is very charming. It is a great place to go with some friends for an informal dinner...... definitely worth a try.
well as for restaurants i wud like to name BBQ Tonite, Salt and Pepper (aka Village), Laal Qila, Meeratth Kabaab House, any Pizza Hut and KFC franchise
for clothes shoes and acessories...Portia fabrics, Chase up, Zamzama as u mentioned, places at Tariq Road and Bahadurabaad
for family outings...PAF Meusem and Park, Sandspit beach, Seaview, Alladin
