Re: Best perfume for men on casual / occasions
These are some of the perfumes my husband uses:
Terre d’ Hermes
http://usa.hermes.com/perfumes/men/terre-d-hermes.html
Gucci by Gucci
http://www.gucci.com/uk/category/m/fragrance
And this Armani Prive (collection of 1001 nights)…very expensive but that coz it’s high-end and even if you wash yourself, the fragrance stays for 3 days.
Re: Best perfume for men on casual / occasions
How long lasting a perfume/cologne is also depends on how your body's chemistry reacts with the perfume. Perfumes have "notes" - high, middle and low notes and each emerges over the course of the day. The way a perfume smells at the beginning of the day is different than what you can smell/sense at the end of the day since by then the lower notes emerge. Your best bet is to go to the store and ask for a sample of a few colognes and try them out for a few days - see how it reacts with your body chemistry and whether you like the scent through the course of the day. It'll also give you an idea of how strong and long-lasting the scent is.

Most base notes come in between 5 minutes to an hour and last only a few hours, top and middle notes are gone within 5 minutes ... More expensive scents will last over a day or so and fade, but if washed will go away quickly ... the Rose de 'lArabie base note lasts 3 days even I after I wash my hand. On clothes no doubt it will last longer.

This.
I've heard that you should take coffee beans (I think) to sniff between smelling colognes so that your nose gets overpowered by a different smell before you try a new cologne.
Taking some samples home would be the best idea. Wear it and do some work around the house or a light work out so you start sweating a bit. Then ask someone how it smells on you.
I like Burberry Touch but it fades pretty quickly.

I like the new one for men by YSL…forgot its name ![]()
I have heard great things about Bond No 9
Re: Best perfume for men on casual / occasions
TSar
Re: Best perfume for men on casual / occasions
Thanks everyone for your help
Firenze named two good ones, amber is my fav these days. Bleu by Chanel is nice, polo double black too,
You can always go for my fav Creed which has some great colognes. They are pricey but worth it.
A scent that has been haunting me is duro by nassomato. Very unique and unlike any other scent. Their black afgano is interesting. M7 by YSL is similar but better priced if duro strikes your fancy.
Burberry brit is also nice.
