I think Dunya is doing a good job. It's pretty balanced and shuns sensationalism unlike its peers.

Dawn News has really misinterpreted the whole notion of liberalism. Liberalism surely does not mean reinforcing the (wrong) image of your country propagated by foreign governments and channels.
I don't really see them having an independent perspective, I really don't know what audience they're actually catering to.

The ABCD crowd loves Dawn news supposedly. Don't know what's so special about it. Just recycled news that you can catch on any American outlet.
^^ That's probably true, though I doubt if the size of that audience segment is massive. No prizes for guessing why they're starting news in Urdu now. I think they also have a dirth of good anchors. That bald guy who presented the Hard-Talk inspired show looked so contrived and was kind of annoying.
On the other hand that guy Nadeem Malik on Dunya is pretty impressive. Probably one of the few sane and presentable people on Pakistani television. I also thought Moeed Peerzada's stuff, whatever little I saw of it, was interesting.
