for tests, even thought he was coming to the end of his test career in the early 80's I would pick:

Glad to know we have something in common.

I think Pak never had a good opening pair. I mean Saeed and Amir were ok they were not something that you can rely on. Amir used to ge carried away alot. I wish if Mohsin Hasan had not join the entairment industry he would have made a really good opening pair for PAK along with Saeed.

Mohsin Khan's best years were 1982-83. Lately he was more like Ramiz Raja at the end of his career, scoring 30-40 runs at the most.

Shahid Afridi is not a bad idea either. He may not be as reliable as one may have hoped though. Remember Salim Yousuf. He did a decent opening job alongside with Saeed Anwar for a while too.

Never got to see Mohsin Khan play, maybe once or twice.
Majid Khan was brilliant.

I am basically picking my batsmans with their style rather than consistency.

My test openers are Saeed Anwar and Majid Khan.

One Day openers Saeed Anwar and Afridi.

They may not be the most consistent batsman out of the other openers but they sure are damn exciting to watch.

saeed Anwar is perhaps the greatest opner Pakistan has ever produced, and I've seen Mohsin's 200 at Lords in 1982 in video-him at his best-and my opinion is unchanged. Anwar and whomever would be the partnership in any form of the game.

Probably w/ Majid Khan.
