khair, I won't go in details, but I know that the message is repeated on with lead guitars and drums, but not conveyed to the kidz. Thats my own opinion. Thats why I don't like it, besides the compositions are of C grade qawwal type.
Parvaz might be the best album technically, but I was talking about interms of sale. I am not a big fan of Deewar either. I still like the first 6 year of Junoon's work better. It was raw and wild.

Your statements make no sense, the songs are very well composed in both Azadi and Parvaz, everyone knows that. 99.9% of the Junoon fans love those two albums.
Its not Junoon's job to 'give the source of poetry like you said', plus every shmuck knows who Bulley Shah, Iqbal, etc, so youre not the only one who knows about them. Every kid in Pakistan studies Urdu peotry, especially Iqbals. Now youve changed your argument, and are blaming the 'people for not knowing what sufi poetry is'? And how hard is it, to understand what 'khuddi ko kar buland itna...' means. So quit this 'Im the only one smart enough to understand this attitude'.
And youre still wrong munney (just like u were wrong about deewar not havign a single sufi track), Parvaz sold more than Deewar, EVEN in terms of sale :D
I still don’t consider jhoolay laal a sufi song. its laughable for me any sensible person would agree that song is a good candidate of ‘skip’ button. And yes again, I find the Junoon’s sufi stuff very offensive to its origin. The poets must have cried on these compositions.
Revolutionary and thought provoking poetry has always been a part of this genre of music. But this spritual thing and that too in bhaand style with no atticates of sufism is not a justice to the great work by our glorious poets. This is MY opinion. You still have right to defend each and everything Junoon do. But I cannot, because I do not follow the celeberities blindly. I appreciate and like what I like, and I critisize what I don’t.
Parvaz might have the biggest sale. I read last year that Junoon broke a record with Deewar by selling 1 Million in 1 week time or somethng like that, so I thought it must have been their biggest hit. It doesn’t matter for me. I have all of their albums and I listen to the ones I like.
Thanks for your time
You will find me telling my inner voice for other singers/bands too. They all are public property…lol…Junoon are no exception. They are not God.
1 Million in 1 week does not mean its the best selling Junoon album, there is something called ‘total’ sales as well. And now yorue saying you dont even consider Jhooley Lal to be a sufi song? First you said you do not even consider lal meri pat, bulleya etc? Kher, to me your argument did not make any sense, which started when you were laughing at people’s favourite songs thinking your choice were better than theirs. Everyone has their choice, and you have to learn to live with that. Thanks though, nice talking to ya.
It's kinda hard to pick a best song from any band but if I have to pick one from Junoon I'd go for Rooh Ki Hai Pyaas. Besides that Tara Jala, Saeein & Sayonee are also personal favorites.
As far as Junoon playing from Iqbal and Bulleh Shah's lyrics, I think anyone who can convey the messege by these greats to our youth in any form is doing a great job. Music is music, if you listen to music then whats the harm in listening to inspirational stuff from the legeds like Iqbal and Bulleh Shah.
