The Islamic World should form a NATO type alliance where they share and develop weapons and give military and economic protection and an alliances to deter threats and attacks from other powers.
For the main countries to lead this alliance they need to have strong and well trained militaries.
In my opinion, the ranking of the 10 best Militaries in the Islamic World
1 - Turkey
2 - Pakistan
3 - Egypt
4 - Iran
5 - Saudi Arabia
6 - Jordan
7 - Syria
8 - Indonesia
9 - Oman
10 - Kuwait
Only Pakistan and Turkey are OK as far as military might is concerned. The Saudis probably can't tell a camel from an F-16, Egypt has been thorughly thrashed by a country 1/100 its size, so obviously they're wayyyyyyyy down the curve. To see a country like Kuwait on the top 10 list is a joke in itself.
maybe so at the moment, through sanctions and trading dificulties but the ambition of iran is huge. if they can come away from this present situation without being attacked by the world(which they wont) then iran will be the nation to put the views of islamic nations forward. infact if there was any islamic nation of considerable military power we wouldnt be seeing the current situation at all.
OIC have already got a military agreement to protect each other but to create a military 'might' is beyond the members of these states. also any attempts to build up this alliance will be dealt with by you know who. each step in this process requires considerable willpower(i cant see it, can you?). plus co-operation between different islamic countries has never been great
Turkey are too busy begging to convince EU that they are not pakis, eu doesnt believe them!
An apna Manufacturer
Pakistan would be the first choice for nearly all of the islamic world if they were to offer weapons for sale, especially those of a detterent world class standard. the major obstacle being industrial infastructure to supplement weapons manufacture. without a reliable supply of weapons, theres no detterent to anyone on a once every 50 years rampage
An alliance between Pakistan, Turkey, and Iran would be quite powerful. Of the three I believe Pakistan is the strongest. Consider this: When Turkey recieved its first batch of F-16s it were the Pakistani pilots who trained and set up their entire Infrastructure. Also, I believe Pakistan, probably after Israel, has the highest standard of selecting pilots for airforce among so many applicants.
I second that.
Regardless of some of their superior tech, they barely know how to operate anything. Arabs had to import pilots to fly high-tech air planes.
It'll only happen if the Arabs run out of oil quickly & stop kissing the white-man's ass.
KSA, Iran, Turkey .. all spend more on their military than Pakistan. But greater expenditure doesn't always translate into better defense force. The proposed alliance is not possible because KSA (the biggest spender) has concerns about the regional ambitions of Tehran. There's no Taliban to the East and no Saddam to the West. Syria is being ruled by a friendly king. Lebanon has Hizbulla. I suspect that Riyadh is not too happy with this growing influence of Tehran.
