can some kind souls please list the names of some top Lahore stores that would carry extensive and high quality collections (preferrably DVDs, CDs) of Pak media/entertainment related stuff?
by extensive I mean plays, shows that were aired on PTV back in the 70s or ones that would one would expect to find in PTV archives such as Aik Muhabbat Sau Afsanay, Dubai Challo etc. also I’m looking for some store which would have dramas sorted by director/actor names. for example, I’d like to get all plays (or as much is available commercially) done by Saleem Nasir, Khalida Riyasat, Sahira Kazmi, Mohsin Ali etc. similarly I’m looking for all songs/albums by some singers like Naheed Akhtar, Nayyara Noor, etc.
is there such a concept in Lahore media stores these days where you can get all work done by a specific artist/director/writer/singer? how easy is it to find such stuff?
naturally, I wanna get quality and original stuff. so, I would prefer to deal with big, reputed stores. also, as you can prolly tell I’ve got quite a long list of stuff that I want. so, do these stores offer some sort of a discount if you buy a certain number of CDs/DVDs/tapes from them? I’ve heard about a certain Hafeez Centre close to Pace. how good is it in your opinion? do you have any other recommendations?

There was this Shahzad guy in Fortress, he had a very good collection. As far as I can recall there are couple of other places at Fortress stadium, which are very good as well.
Visit Hall Road and I think they are “TIME VIDEO” but you can ask “TIME walay”. They had quite a range of movies and drams on CD, not sure if they had it on DVD. Chances are they most probably did have them.
Note: I am not in Lahore. Only visited Lahore some months back and had the opp to visit along with a friend. But there were n number of shops there. Plus i guess they are going to be cheaper than Fotress.
sambzzz, Most of the places have been mentioned. I would recommend hall road, there are about two to three plaza's check all three can't think of the names,one is I think zatoon plaza. Most of the stuff that is sold at Liberty and else where is not genuine. Its all copied/bought from hall road. SO I would recommend hall road. Also hafeez center, y-block defence and liberty of course.yes there are allkinds of concepts in Lahore media stores these day you can get all kinds of work done by a specific artist/director/writer/singer. and it is very easy to find such stuff... Just go there and tell them. Its very simple and easy :)
WARNING : Ladies, never ever go to hall road alone, you will regret it all your life.
