Hi, I have been gifted 35,000 rupees by my khala who wants me to make a piece of jewelry which will come in handy in the future for whenever I get engaged or married.
I wanted to make a Stone Ring e.g. emerald.
But what is the best investment?

If you are talking about investment in terms of resell value, stones don't count much when you try to sell a piece of gold jewelry. Get something like simple/plain bangles so that when you get married, you want to sell those to get something that is in trend, they could offer most value. Also get 24 karat gold so don't buy something off the shelf because they might be 18-20 karat. Just suggestions - your choice.

Mmmmm Bangle/Kara? i was gifted bangles and then after a few years their price went up and i traded them recently in dubai for 2 karas!! mA
rings are good but the stones take away the value i think....because when i trading stuff in dubai recently they said they were only interested in the amount of gold....
Re: best investment jewelery wise ?
Yeah, just invest in the gold.
Re: best investment jewelery wise ?
gold and as simple as possible the more ct/pattern/designed they are the less value they will have.get gold bangles or earrings (maybe just hoops?) something simple so that u can maximize the profit later.
best investment jewelery wise ?
Gold bangles, they go with everything. Your likely to get more wear from them than say a necklace and what all the above posters have said.
Re: best investment jewelery wise ?
35k wont be enough for bangles. It wont even get you 1 tola of gold. Get a 6-8 grams gold coin instead maybe?
Re: best investment jewelery wise ?
yea, try getting a bracelet or something..
when i tried selling a few of my old sets they would give me an estimate of what they thought the stone weights and them offer an amount after that.. Obviously it’s really difficult to know exactly so they will try to give you less than it actually is.
Also, i recently heard that you shouldn’t resell polki sets as they give you less than what it actually is, they claim that a lot of gold was wasted when they were removing the stones. ![]()
