Best haircut

Who?

When?

Where?

One cut that everyone complimented, one person you’d always want to go back to.. which can you safely say, was the best haircut that you’ve ever had?

Re: Best haircut

At 15, I got a sort of pixie cut that I got LOTS of compliments on. It was a bold cut...because it was considerably shorter than my usual shoulder-length hair.

Tried repeating it again about two years ago and it didn't look nearly as flattering....though I haven't changed much from then (my face structure is still the same...not chubbier or anything like that, etc). Maybe I didn't get the cut exactly the way it was back then.

When we were living in KSA....my mom, sister, and cousin, and I would walk about 20-30 minutes to a ladies parlor called Hanadi. My dad had the car and he was at work...women couldn't drive...so we walked there...and sometimes to the bazaar (it was fun). Anyhow Hanadi was almost like a house cum salon. It was run by several Filipino women who (IMO) were very good at what they did. I guess that being Asian themselves, hey had an understanding of the nuances of Asian hair. That's where I got my pixie cut done, lol.

And then over here....about two years ago, I got my hair permed for the first time by this gay hairdresser. I wonder if male stylists have stronger understanding of what cuts look good on women. I was apprehensive because my hair is really fine and I thought the perm would dry it out.....but the guy did a really nice job. My hair wasn't fried and it gave it nice oomph and volume. Got several compliments on it.

My amma :k:

Dad used to call her “naaiyan di tee” :rotfl:

My hair grows really quickly so I tend to be open to ideas for new hairstyles. I had it cut to above my shoulders, I’ve had it permed and the colour changes seasonally - so I’ve gotten compliments on all of the varied styles. I go to the same stylist - he’s really good at what he does and understands that wanting “different” is not a bad thing and he keeps me in line in terms of what’s appropriate for my face shape and skin tone.

These days I’m growing out the perm, but when I flat-iron my hair, it’s almost to my waist. I really want to change my hairstyle - I’m thinking of going short like this:

What do you think?

LOL. My mom’s a pretty good naai herself. She’s cut my hair several times.

can’t see it

^ Pretty, it's going to be a task maintaining it though :(

Darn it! That’s what I thought :hinna:

I am a low maintenance hair gal - I wash my hair every morning and literally finger comb or pin it up (which I can get away with because it’s currently really long and permed). I never spend more than 5 minutes on my hair during the week - and only spend extra time styling it on the weekends.

Oh well, back to the drawing board.
