No really free anymore (it was till last year) but you can keep on activating the trial period for unlimited time by just click of a button. One manager for almost all top used Industry databases. In 90% of the cases it has more functionality than the functionality comes in Native management softwares of those databases including but not limited to Oracle, SQL Server, My SQL, DB 2 etc
I actually ended up buying the license!

Truecrypt → creates virtual encrypted disk, very fast and reliable. No need to install. You can create encrypted volumes virtually anywhere.

If you want to write scientific, engineering or mathematics report/thesis then I would highly recommend you to use TeX/LaTeX.
• Quality is very high
• Cost is free
• Initially need some effort to learn, but this effort is worth to invest.
• Output can be saved in dvi, postscript (ps), or pdf format
TeX is a typesetting system written by Donald E. Knuth, who says that it is “intended for the creation of beautiful books - and especially for books that contain a lot of mathematics”.
MiKTeX is an up-to-date implementation of TeX/LaTeX and related programs for Windows (all current variants).

Lisa FEA good cheap FEA package, the free version has a 1300 node limit and if you can’t afford ANSYS in my opinion it’s the best one to go for.
