Hey guys, what are the best vegetarian-friendly dishes for weight gain? I switched to a vegetarian diet a few months ago and have lost a ton of weight. I never weighed much to begin with and now I just look like a skeleton. I am eating well, but I am just unable to gain any weight. My diet is pretty healthy (no soda, fast food, sweets etc) & I do not wish to eat junk food to gain unhealthy weight. What are some healthy foods I can incorporate in my diet to gain weight?

eat protein diet (meat) and rice , atleast 1 time a day

well, can u plz tell me, what veg diet u have taken n how long? how much weight u have reduced?

Well eat boiled potatoes, bananas and red beans(alternate of meat) but take it easy for the first few times because these beans can upset your stomach.

I always enjoyed beans and lentils so they are still a big part of my diet. I love pasta so I usually sautee mixed veggies and mix in penne and sauce to it. I love rice too so I either make mixed vegetable pulao/biryani or boiled rice with rajma/daal. I have started making lots of veggie curries and I eat them with whole wheat roti. I also eat salad with every meal except for breakfast. I eat lots of snacks/small meals throughout the day. People are always telling me that I am always eating. I weighed a little over 100lbs in November 2013 but now I am 85lbs which is scary.

If you need to gain weight I would substitute some of those salads for sandwiches. Bread will provide more calories. I would also start eating peanut butter sandwiches. Natural PB has good fats, and is very calorie dense. Add some jelly in there and two or three sandwiches will provide a lot of calories.
Nuts and seeds are also good. Pasta is great, which you're already eating. Try to add more cheese in there, as it's also calorie dense.

Some people find it difficult to lose weight while others find it difficult to gain it. Both extremes are bad.

eat avocados - this healthy and high fat . Consume other carbs and Potatoes.
You probably have a very fast metabolism.

True and I am in same situation as you but cannot bring myself to eat much.

Same with me whatever I eat my weight didn't increase.but I think it's genetically or by birth. I always get comments ke ab tu thori moti hojao shadi ke baad. But I think I'm good in my way.

Try date or banana shake, pancake or some ghee parhtas.
Notes down food to avoid. Up your starchy foods. Smoothies are good and indulge in a few vegan desserts.
