Appears to be another impulsive move. Serious relationships can be established more silently then grand standing, unless you want to send message to another country (in this case US). In this case, Iran would do anything to spite US, but it is not in Pakistan’s interest (at least not yet) to overtly antagonize US. Before jump in to a serious relationship with Iran, Pakistan need to develop people to people contacts, exchange of cultural and ohter ties etc., Going for an establishment level relationship that too with a totalatarian regime is not going to be in the long term interest.

The Currency Swap has been under discussion between different countries from last 10 years or more, the Petro-Dollar or Concept of US Dollar base economy would be History in year future, the world is returning to the basics as they have witnessed 4/5 crisis by depending on a single currency ( new one is just on its way) can somehow save themselves by being less dependent on the Dollars… yes it is bad news for US, but they are to blame for this, weakening economy of US cannot support the Dollar any more…
