please share titles and authors as well as the topic of thebooks that are contemporary treasures on or about Islam as a faith; its history, people in their roles of haqooqalibaad and Islam, Prophet Mohammed pbuh’s seeraat, expansion of the faith all over the world, current issues of concern to followers of Islam, Islam and non Mulsims, Islam and Converted Muslims, Islam and Everyday living, Islam and he Self of every Person, Islam and Almighty God, Islam and Children, Islam and Economy, Islam and Justice, and Islam on Worship & Spirtuality.
one book that i know is: Islam at the Cross Roads by a converted Muslim, M. Asad, who recenlt passed away.
One of the best primers I have read and it really sets a Muslim in to context is to study the core most essential aspects of the Islamic belief system. It is ofcourse the 'aqeedah …
The title of the book is “The Creed of Imam At-Tahawi” Translated by Sh. Hamza Yusuf …
It is by far the best contemporary translative work because the terms are a best fit translation and the original Arabic is there to compare with.
I think by understanding the terms 'Aqal and Naqal as ‘Reason’ and ‘Tradition’ as Sh. Hamza Yusuf sets out in this book is paramount to understanding the various schools and the way interpretation is undertaken.
Furthermore the book can be read from cover to cover in less than two and half may be three hours.
