Don’t buy a capsule machine if you are a coffee lover! depending on your budget you should go for a semi automatic espresso machine or a fully automatic one depending on your skills. Buy Jura if you can afford one or else second best is delonghi. I got both in wedding present and trust me the Jura one is so good it’s like drinking a cup of coffee in Italy or France.

Re: Best Coffee Machine (recommendations)

how good are you at making coffee? do you have time to tinker with a real espresso machine? do you want fairly autmated specialty drinks or do you want espresso

if you are not great or dont have time, get a capsule anyways

for espresso, of the capsule’s I would recommend illy iperespresso francis francis y1.1, I have it and there is simply no better capsule based espresso…but it makes just espresso so get a separate frother to make drinks.

for espresso and cappuccino- and for use with either capsule or grounds, look at gaggia evolution or gaggia classic

I dont know your budget so giving you options of machines that will give you the most bang for the buck.

delonghi espresso machines are okay, you get better quality of product and coffee with rancilio, jura, gaggia,

and btw, having two is not a sin. get a capsule for when you want a quick good cup, and get a good one for grounds when you want to have more control on the product.

get a burr grinder, grind your beans before brewing, find some local roasters that will roast beans in small batches so you dont have roasted beans lying around too much.

a decent machine with proper bars of pressure, beans roasted not too long ago, grind just before brewing…and you will make coffee better than any starbucks type place

KC- maaaan dont make the man wait, for these emergencies you guys need to just flash a fraud pir signal in the sky kinda like the bat signal, mine is just a dollar sign.

and keurig is so-so…

Re: Best Coffee Machine (recommendations)

thanks for a detailed answer X2. In Australia DeLonghi, sunbeam, Breville and Nescafe brands are available. Keurig and Jura I listened first time, I am not much into the technicalities of the machine as I never had any. I only made it manually at home by whipping by my hand. The capsule one of Dolce i liked coz its taste was near mine. I dont like a strong cup but rather mild or even lighter one. Dolce gusto is here 149$ and that I liked about it. What would u say about the other 2 attachments? Any idea?

Not sure what attachments you are referring to, can you post a pic

Re: Best Coffee Machine (recommendations)

These were the attachments. However I have purchased 3rd one

Ahh sorry I thought you meant attachments to the espresso machine not attached links in your post

Keep us posted on your coffee adventures.

Get beans and grind right before brewing, big diff. And keep them in airtight canisters.

Re: Best Coffee Machine (recommendations)

At the moment got the capsule machine and feeling fine with it. Thinking to buy a milk frother later and can enjoy a good coffee as what i have learnt is frothing the milk makes a difference, nothing else much
