Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

any cleanser with 2% salicylic acid or tea tree oil will work fine. somedays i just tone my face with pure tea tree oil after using my Noxema cleanser. the oil smells very strong but make those emerging pimples go away pretty nicely..

Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

try the AB cleanser from platinumskincare.com. Chanda_kh told me about it and I have been loving it for 6 months now

Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

yay!^ lol i am never out of it .... they changed the formula/fragrance a little be..its minty now :) and wonderful!!

Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

this one looks very promising with all those acids plus testimonials r gr8. $23 for 90z is not bad either. Nadz if u giv it a try lemme know. i might try it too once i'm done with my current cleanser.
does it dry ur skin out? i see alcohol in it. and how long it lasts?

Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

i’ve been using the regular ayurvedic neem cleanser and face-cream since 2 weeks now … me likey! face feels fresh.
that apple cider and honey thing  … i have acne-prone, oily, sensitive skin … and this combination only gives me more acne … but then it could be my skin only, honey doesnt suit it.

Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

then try apple cider without honey. its good though doesn't necessarily keep pimples away but giv u clean, soft, glowy skin

Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

I don't find it to be that drying...but having salicylic acid in it does mean a bit of dryness. As long as you follow with a good moisturizer..there shouldn't be a problem. I have dry'ish skin and I use it without a problem. I bought my 9oz bottle in May and It's still going.

Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

wow nice. would love to try it. best thing it has both AHA/ BHA same time.

My acne has been more in control since I started using Lush products. I break out less and when I do, they go away quickly. Here’s what I’m using:

  1. Cleansers: Dark Angels and Herbalism

  2. Tea Tree Toner: It’s antibacterial. Simply squirt some on to a cotton ball and apply to skin after cleansing.

  3. Imperialis Moisturizer: Apply to skin after toning with tea-trea water. The toner helps it absorb into skin. Leaves a non-greasy feel.

Here’s the Lush website, it’s in the UK as well. LUSH Fresh Handmade Soaps and Natural Cosmetics

Also, as suggested by Gina…Vitamin E oil does help fade acne spots…especially the brown ones. I’ve tried it and I’m surprised at how quickly they’re fading.

******* A few months ago, I developed a real nasty case of cystic acne along my jaw. It was bad…sensitive to the touch…felt hard and lumpy…one touch and you could tell the break-outs were plugged deep deep down. Couldn’t figured out what caused it since I “thought” I was being careful. But my dermatologist suggested that it could be because of using a community phone. And I realized that I had been using the phone in the teacher’s lounge quite a bit. It’s infested with germs from other peoples’ hands and breath. That said, keep in mind that certain surfaces are very, very germy (door handles, keyboards, phones, steering wheels, remote controls, etc) and should be cleaned. Run an antibacterial wipe over your phone (cell phone as well). Don’t touch your face too much.

Take a multivitamin, keep well-hydrated, get enough sleep, exercise, reduce stress, and reduce stress. Nothing will look good if the basics are not in place.

Yes, apple cider is another that remedy that will help zap pimples. It can sting if you apply it too roughly, so be gentle But it will flatten out pimples and it can reduce inflammation and balances the PH of your skin. Be warned, it stinks....has a very pungent odor (kind of like vomit). I had applied ACV straight, undiluted. But I know some people will apply it diluted in water.

Now, I just use tea tree toner, which is antibacterial. Some people have also found relief with tea tree oil.

Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

RV i'm loving pure tea tree oil on face. my pimples r not going anywhere no matter wat i'm doing but i'm still liking this stuff. initially the smell felt strong now it feels relaxing.
really Vit E oil faded ur dark spotts? i'm using it for quite sometime meray tu nahin kiay :(
but skin feels so nourished afterwards
i too use plain ACV with youghurt or without.

Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

the worst recent product that i used was Dove’s ProAge moisturizer!
i was getting more and more acne, and i was like whaaaat .. whaaaaat … what is it!!! .. :cryb: …and i wasnt using anything that should be giving me any .. and one fine day, while attending mother nature’s call, and reading the label of Dove ProAge :@: … i thought this must be it …
it says not to be used on eyes, and it has lactic acid (advertised as AHAs) … and i stopped using it … and my situation has calmed down … otherwise every morning that i’d wake up … new small kiddies will be dancing on my face, and fade away by evening … not cool .

and while i’ve touched the topic … every bottled/packaged thing says dont use on eyes, rinse immediately bla bla bla … so what do you guys do to wash your eyes? blond moment
because every product tells me to not to be used on/around eyes … then i use soap first to wash my eyes. and then go on to the rest of the face with the regular products :bummer:

and yes vit. E helps. it takes time, but helps. iv been using an organic vit.e cream for my eyes … and it has helped my dark circles too. and i also used the same a bit on my spots … it helps!

Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

Apple cider vinegar (diluted or not) works best for me!!!

i’m sure its not lactic acid in Dove that was breaking u. must be something else. i use cleanser on my whole face. i use everything around eyes but upper eye lids. yes acids i keep a lil away until the eye bone.

Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

so you just use water to wash your eyes? no soap no nothing???

Re: best cleanser for acne prone sensitve skin

Whats the ACV for? and where can i buy, does it do the same job as tea tree oil.

I use extra virgin olive oil to clean the skin around my eyes. It cleans every little speck of dirt, make up, sunscreen without drying it out (obviously). No irritation, no itchy or taut skin, and no tension of getting wrinkles. Lubbb it!

ACV is apple cider vinegar and will be available in any grocery store.
