all these places you mentioned serve two week old chicken shyt. the best places to eat in Lahore are actually in Lahore, and not in West End of London.

oops.... i mean gawalmandi... but that aint cafe... its a street that stretches to approx 300m where you can find ne thing... just about any pakistani food..

btw heera mandi also has cookuus cafe which overlooks badshah masjid, another great place to eat.

yeah... the tradition goes back thousands of years.. In order for one to have his sins forgiven (after spending time in heera mandi) one needs to donate food to the neighboring badshahi masjid... Infact badshahi masjid started getting so much food that they had to open a cafe!

you know.. last year.. I went to Pakistan.. and altho im from Rawalpindi and have visited Lahore as a child.. I really wanted to go again.
anyhow we got the train (what a wonderful way of travel) it took 5 hours and it was quite late so we just checked into our hotel. we stayed at the Ambassador.. (a decent place actually!!) and got a rickshaw to gwal-mandi or food st.. what a fantastic place.. and my my iv never seen so much ‘talent’ Lahori boys are damn good looking..
well anyways.. we did the usual, Bibi Pak Damnah, Karbala Gamay Shah, Badshahi Masjid, Shahi Qila.. Minar-e-Pakistan.. we went to Laxmi-Chowk.. and I did all my shopping there.. I forget where???
I just fell in love with Lahore.. and didnt wanna go back.. Id love to settle there one day..

I heard the “titliyan” (ADGKS expression) that roam these high end cafes are quite the looker. Will definitely check it out next time I am in lahore. Mean the cafe, not the “titliyan.”
