How to behave towards a person whos assuming that whatever he/she is telling you is making you feel better whereas in reality His/Her words are making you feel even worse?

smile politely and say, "Thank you. I know you mean well but right now you are not helping."

Thats exactly what i did but she said that you do not know to how to treat the people who cares for you.
