but as i have said to many people before, statistics r not always the best reflection of a player....
the guy ait a big-game player....
do u know that shoaib akhtar has a BATTING AVERAGE of 50+ against australia, the highest for any pakistani player against australia....
does it mean akhtar is the best pakistani batsman against aussies????**
[/quote]
what a dumb question...
Statistict are only meaningful when its taken for a substanial period of time.
and for your information Shoib's average agaianst Australia in TEST is 7.25 .
match = 5
Ining = 7
Not out = 3
Runs = 29
Highest = 8
Average = 7.25
Zero = 1
How did u get Average as 50.
get ur facts right man.How can someone have average 50 who never scored a 50.

Wrong!
you can score lower than a 50 and have many not outs and still can able to maintain an average of 50.
why do you think bevan has one day average of 65, because he usualy comes 5 or 6 and having a great batting lineup like Australia, he always comes in the end and stays not out which adds up to his previous score and counting as only one batting.

ya.. but at least, total no. of runs in all innings should be 50 (assuming he got out at least once, otherwise average is infinite) in shoaib's case, even that is not true.

the figures i gave u were rfm the NATWEST series newsletter issued by the official sponsors....
and anyway, who cares about the stats....
tendulkar aint that good a player as his records show....
and we all know that most if his runs come at home, where the home umpires MUST see him get OUT ten times before he finally leave the ground....
i rate ganguly a much better player than tendulkar,,,,

Another **** about tendulkar.
It seems u r in constant denial of fact that he is Indian and is the best batsman after Bradman as Bradman himself said it.

Mughal bhai, You are right, He is the worst batsman - Best batsman in teh world are 1. Muthaia Murlidharan 2. G. Macgrath 3. Shoaib Akhtar 4. Alan donald
Infact, His management Company paid Bradman whole lot of money to say that He batted like him.

Yeah, In australia - The umpire invented a new way to get him out - HBW (Head Before Wicket) - This new technology is not known to the Indian Umpires that's why it takes 11 attempts to get him out of the field.
Also, When he scored Century against all those countries - their main players were not playing. Like Against Pakistan in Chepauk Only Wasim Akram/Waqar Younis/Saqlain were playing and as well know they are from Pakistan A team. Same way Against Australia their main Batsman G. Mcgrath and Jason Gillespie used to open bowling. Same with SA -their main batsman Alan Donald and Pollock. Now with these mediocre bowlers opening the bowling with lolypops anyone can score those many runs.
ZZ and others - Is your cricketing brain so pathetic that you guys are arguing such a simple fact with Mughal bhai Saab.
These guys Sachin, Miandad and Vishwanath are the world's best middle order. It doesnt matter where they come, They can adjust their game to suit the requirement. All of them can bat in all the positions.
However I would have the following,
1. Haneef
2. Gavaskar
3. Viswanath
4. Sachin
5. Miandad
6. Zaheer..
I think instead of Waqar we can go for KAPIL .fact that he is agreat all rounder will help tehy batting a lot.
so My team woul dbe
1.Gavaskar
2.Haneef
3.Javed
4.Sachin
5.Zaheer
6.Kapil
7.Imran
8.Kirmani/Bari ( I am confused whome to pick)
9.Akram
10.Murlidhran ( i guess he is the Best off spinner world has ever seen)
11.Chandrashekhar ( he is the Best legspinner world has ever seen,May be shane Warne was close to him)

A pretty formidable team and very difficult to beat. As for wicket keeper i would go for Bari because Bari was the better keeper of the two even though Karmani was a better batsman. But with such an impressive lineup of bats man do we need another batsman? Therefore I would vote for Bari.
