Which is the best area to stay in Dubai for a short visit (5-7 days) from a tourist point of view?
Key features that I am looking for are :
a. a small apartment that you can rent on daily/weekly basis
b. not too far from major tourist attractions
c. family place i.e. non-ghetto
d. economical

Would help you.
Poppies and FT could also be proved helpfull as they visit there frequently.
Me little aware about Dubai as living in Abu Dhabi.

1) Theres self catering apartments in Dubs- the Chelsea tower ones on SZR are really nice and centrally located- try the BETTERHOMES website and see what u get
2) You now have the Metro that is really cheap which means u can travel and see the whole of Dubs for amazingly economical cost- otherwise taxis work out expensive

Le Meridien furnished apartments in Deira, Chelsea Towers is right on the Sheikh Zayed Road.. there are lots of hotel apartments including Marriot.
