ok even if i am ! :stuck_out_tongue: which one do u recommend…

Kaspersky I found to be good, Zone Alarm is a bit annoying…any you guys use or recommend for efficient running comps?

Brother there is no such thing as "best anti virus software". I have an older version of McAfee, which I never bothered to enable. And Allah ka shukar kay virus wagera nahi aatey.

The security of your computer depends on your surfing habbits. A combinition of FireFox with some nice plugins + a good firewall (standard windows XP would do as well) along with occasional scanning by HiJackThis (to keep an eye on the processes and registry keys), and some anti spyware (e.g. AdAware) will ensure that you remain virus free.

I have that as well

one of the good things about NOD32 is that it runs silently in the background, it never interfers with your system like creating firewalls, etc....

NOD32 is the one to get

if you want a free one then either take avast or AVG. I used to run avast for many months before a malicious virus got into my system32 files. though avast detected it it was unable to remove it. so i uninstalled Avast and used installed AVG instead. AVG removed that virus.
I dont think there is any one program that is the best. there is always some risk when you are on the internet. however my personal experience has shown these two to be good. nod32 is also good at removing some viruses that can not be removed through the others. never used kaspersky but i have heard it is the best one available these days.
norton and McAfee are crap.

Here are some which I use:

1) No Script (You can enable/disbale scripting for individual sites, a must have!)
2) WebDeveloper (you can examine/delete cookies, form data, DOM and much more)
3)User Agent switcher
4) Modify Headers

etc.

AND BTW, switch to Mac OS X, or Linux if you don't want to have any anti virus thing, ;)

Ok I got Avast, its pretty decent with low memory usage. and its completely free, plus when i shopped around, I saw this as the top rated anti-virus, after extensive tests were done on several anti-virus programs.

how is Nod32 on memory?

Norton, McAfee are hogs and take up a lot of resources

Ihave used Avast. it did not protect me on a couple of occassions. and then it was not even able to remove those viruses. the first time i had to use nod to get rid of the virus. the second time i had to use AVG.

But I was using norton antivirus it works great too,but its a trial version
