Dubai's airport is damn nice!!!
that little plaza area in Bahrain's airport was nice too.....but Dubai se acha tau nahin hai
karachi's is nice....the best part not having to get my stuff scanned before exiting the airport,:D saved us soooooooo much time (ahhh th the joys of knowing "Ander ke log")
Worst airports are probably all the ones i know in Africa. They had a lot of struff you just had to struggle through. With respect to airports in the US, the best one I have been to is Madison, WI where you can park your car literaly across the airport terminal and get to your gate in under 10 mins. Plus the security check point people were always very helpful. The worst ones have to be Ohare and Newark. Ohare especially I have gotten delayed at dozens of times because of the weather and the parking lots are halfway across the city it seems. With Newark, my experience has always been to flights leaving at least 30 mins late.
San Deigo airport is lovely and not far from the city at all as well and the Sacremento airpot is one of the few where you literaly walk into the terminal and climb straight up the escalators into security checks.
Parking at Providence airport is probably one of the best for the east cosat airports and in terms of beauty, I like the Orlando aiprorts shuttle service which shows you wonderful sunshine and the golf areas when you arrive.
I realize most of this is based on convinance rather then how many shops so may not appeal to everyone here.
Best: JFK, Dubai (they have a really great medical facility there)
Worst: DeGaulle, Paris - very nightmarish the way u keep walking thru lonnnng corridors and nobody wants to help and no signs either.
Bad: Islamabad Intl... When my flight landed at the airport and i went inside i was like what the hell no aircodntioing on nothing .... it was humid and muggy it sucked
Hey, how come nobody has mentioned the new Kuala Lumpur International Airport? Its superb, totally Wi-Fi enabled, great shops/halal food joints, prayer rooms, fantastic transit / overnight stay facilities. This has to be the best, only -ve point is that its a good 45-60 mins drive from centre of KL.
The worst has to be Heathrow. Terminals 1,2 and 3 are too old and overcrowded. Terminal 4 is just about OK I guess. Let's hope the new Terminal 5 that's under construction can help restore Heathrow's standing as a world class airport when it opens next year.
The major US Airports are pretty much all the same - functional but neither the best nor the worst.
