I want to make pakore but I don’t have besan.. is there a substitute I can use, such as all purpose white flour? or chapatti flour instead?
Re: Besan substitute
I dont think so you can make rice from anything else except rice, same goes for pakorey. Wheat flour or plain flour cant replace the BESAN which is a chickpea ata. If you can grind channey and do some experimentation with it, that might work, but its just a suggestion have never tried it myself
Re: Besan substitute
how about corn starch? you got some in the cupboard?
Re: Besan substitute
you mean, use only corn starch as the batter paste for pakore?
Re: Besan substitute
I have never ground chane either.. I don't even have the machinery for that
Re: Besan substitute
You can make cabbage or mix vegetable pakoras/chinese pakoras with plain flour/maida.
