Besan face mask recipe

Does anyone have a recipe for one? I’ve heard quite a bit this and wanted to give it a try. People have given me a general idea but not about how much to besan, water, and whatever else to add, how long to leave it on and other specifics.

Re: Besan face mask recipe

1 tsp of besan should be enough to make a mask for 1 time usage. I guess start with the add-ons to the mask first, and then add in enough water to make a thick paste of sorts. Most likely you won't need to add any extra water though. I'd leave it in for about 20 minutes, or long enough until about 50% of it has started to dry on your face.

The one I've used a lot is honey-besan. So 1 tsp of besan, a squeeze of honey, and then enough water to it to make a thick paste.

Another one you can try is besan + rose water. That's more of a refreshing mask than anything I think.

What type of skin do you have and is there something specific you're looking for for like effects of the mask?

Re: Besan face mask recipe

Overall, I have pretty normal skin. I don't have any major issues except occasional blemishes (like redness) and a bit of dryness in the winter months. The other issue I have is that my skin tends to look a bit dull in the winter months and I read somewhere that besan has a brightening effect and can help get a healthy glow.

Re: Besan face mask recipe

For the brightening effect, you could add whole milk + pinch of turmeric to the besan. You can also substitute the milk with almond oil when you feel your skin feels extremely dry (like during winter months) or you just need some extra moisture. I personally like besan + lemon juice, because lemon juice naturally has that brightening effect, however you might feel that's a bit too strong for your skin or you might be sensitive to the lemon juice. In that case you can either dilute it with a bit of water, or add almond or olive oil to the besan.
