I think you got it wrong. Parminder did not say SHE did not want to marry a muslim; she was telling her friends how her parents are against her marrying a black, a white, a muslim....in fact nothing but a Sikh or at worst Punjabi hindu would do. It was supposed to be funny. I bet your parents would say the same thing. All in all it was a good, clean movie.
