mem sahib, I could be wrong... I saw that part where that Indian/Pakistani girl is talking to that big guy, where he goes 'I really love Beckham'. One thing is for sure, they really captured the weirdness of some British Born Pakistani/Indian Confused in this one...

To tell you the truth, I haven't even watched it. Yet I plan to soon. Hope it's as funny as East is East because the "desi" movies made in America are not funny!
Peopel - have you seen American Desi? I thought that was good.
My friends seen it she reckons its pretty good, BUT it deals with quite a few tedious subjects concerning asian culture, and the parents are a LITTLE lenient (putting it lightly

i saw the movie and loved it, it woz ace, it was better than east is east, it had a tone of realism to it where as east is east was simply using muslims to make degrading and NOT funny jokes.

does anyone know is American Desi has been released in Britain yet or not?
I took my cousin who came from Pakistan to watch this film and she found it very interesting, it talks about culture and its very true for Pakistanis too. (though Asians should stick to cricket). Kinda funny as well but the jokes were a bit overdone, still - worth watching.

American Desi has been released years ago. It's a good movie, I saw it when I was in Pakistan.
