Benazir's papers rejected

The returning officer for NA-207 (Larkana-IV) on Friday rejected the nomination papers of PPP chairperson and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, giving the reason that she had been convicted in three references of the National Accountability Bureau

Ayaz Soomro, president, District Bar Association, appeared on behalf of Ms Bhutto and prayed that when the forms of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had been accepted, the nomination papers of Ms Bhutto should also be accepted. But overrluing his arguments, returning officer Akhlaque Hussain Larik, the additional sessions judge, Ratodero, rejected the forms of Ms Bhutto.

He called it “double standard,” saying Mr Sharif’s forms were accepted though he too was a convict. Ms Bhutto had been informed in London of the matter, he added.

It seems people like PT like to ignore the fauji looters and considerthem to be angels.

Because Lahore is in Punjab and Larkana is in Sindh. Everybody gets different 'treatment' than the Punjabis.

(Updated at 1750 PST)
ISLAMABAD: Self-exiled ex-premier Benazir Bhutto told to a foreign news agency Wednesday she was unlikely to return to Pakistan to contest next month’s elections, as she had previously vowed.

“It seems unlikely now,” Bhutto said of her much-vaunted political comeback plan, three days after election officials rejected her nominations to contest three national parliamentary seats.

She said, “I did want to return to contest the elections, but the military regime is trampling every democratic norm and defrauding the people of Pakistan with regard to democratic and political rights.”

^ :hehe:

good for her:) that her papers were rejected and all alike also…i wish the people of Pakistan..real people would wake up..:smash:
