Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

According to this writer BB has not made much noise about Aitzaz Ahsan rotting in jail, or about the restoration of the ex-CJ. Such is back-stabbing nature of power politics in Pakistan.

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

BB has done same with sher afgan before, khar now with aitzaz. She doesnt like anyone to be more popular then herself or who talks about principles.

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

or she may lose her hold on lifetime chairperson of PPP

Re: Benazir’s great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

She dosen’t think much of the ousted CJ and judges as well.

Bhutto to Musharraf: We Can Still Deal

Do you think these judges were actually in the wrong?

I am not aware of the details but I know that General Musharraf has made some allegations against the judges, and they are allegations that they must respond to. They are very serious allegations.

Re: Benazir’s great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

Its not back stabbing Reza. Its stratergy. Why will she like to have a supreme court that does not bow to government.

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

This is the woman who was prepared to have 150 people killed so she can have big rally in her honour, and get hundreds of PPP jiyalas arrested to give a false impression that she is not going along with wider plans that are afoot. :)

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

^Its hilarious to see how balatantly she can lie day in and day out. Just few days ago she was saying that it was suicide bombing and yesterday she was saying that it was a car bomb.

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

It is indeed hillarious. Welcome to 'real-politik'. :)

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

PPP workers are mere lambs to the slaughter for BB, as she negotiates with General Musharraf and the Army for a share in power.

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

That's so true. And guess what many on this board want the "Na-zero-Kracy" in the name of democracy.

Sad utterly sad!

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

If you read the history since 1954, you would know that none of the millitary dictator or civilian ruler has tolerated an independent judiciary. Since they all did extra-constitutional acts to save themselves not the country they need chamcha judges who can do 'ji hazoori' all the time and provide shields for their illegitimate actions.

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

Bhaijan, do you know what happened to the judiciary under NS rule. :)

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

Uptil now I thought NS attack on SC was the worst in history, but this crises has surpassed many from past. Mush started his presidential election campaign 6 months ahead thinking that it is very easy, remove CJ and installed some chamcha. Little did he know that he will have to face this day. Imposing emergency two days before verdict.

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

maybe it was s suicide bomber sitting in a car? have you ever thought about that einstein :D

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

Bhaijan, any non-biased person will agree that never had the judiciary and the media been as free in the history of Pakistan, except under the govt of Presidnet Musharaf.

It is a pity that certain judges and journalists had abused those freedoms so much that they created constitutional chaos, and more importantly put the war against terror in danger because of their biases and personal agendas.

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

Bhaijan, you are absolutely right. Afterall BB's father Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto sacrificed hald the country to grab power. Once he did grab power in Pakistan, it was as Civilian Martial Law Administrator (CMLA).

Sad utterly sad.

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

Please provide examples of Judiciral misconduct. Please avoide Naeem Bukhari's verbal-decision vs detailed-decision, those jokes are beaten to death. That letter has no significance.

In support of my view point, I think these are the cases which government didn't like. The government was all fine till 2004, when Aziz and co spreaded their wings in corruption.

Missing people
Steel Mills case
Several So' Moto on public requests
Administration brought to courts on show cause and public allegations
2nd term of president Mush in uniform

Except for these issues, government has been more than happy with SC so far. Record speaks for itself.

Same with media, until Aziz/Tareen/Dheiddi 's stock market antics, Habib Bank and Steel Mills mass corruption scandles unveiled, the government and media were on honeymoon. Media was phentifying BB and NS day and night, Mush was on cloud number 9, as it reinforce validation on his Oct 99' coup.

Re: Benazir’s great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

Long Live Free Judiciary :jhanda:

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

Unfortunately, that is quite factually true. Other than that BB will never measure upto her father, who was a politician of a kind.

Re: Benazir's great betrayal of Aitzaz Ahsan

I'm not sure I have the right to mention that. But by my analysis and my judgment of the pictures and video material aired by AL Jazeera on that day. Made me really believe it was a car bomb. Actually I even remember the car to be a police car. Call me a nutter but this is what I remember seeing that day.
