Zardari in his address also made it clear that Benazir Bhutto in her will had nominated him (Zardari) as her political heir and not Bilawal Bhutto. “Now I have nominated him (Bilawal) as my political heir,” he affirmed, adding that if anybody had any doubts about it, he/she could see BB’s will to ascertainment the veracity of what he was saying.
This statement was in response to Ashraf Sohna’s request to bring Bilawal back.
“Why have you held back my Bilawal from meeting me and the party workers? It is great injustice with workers that their leader is not being allowed to interact with them,” Sohna reportedly told Zardari in an emotional tone. He also objected to the politics of reconciliation Zardari was doing at the moment. “This is not PPP’s style of politics,” Sohna roared.
So where does Bilawal stand in the greater scheme of things?
Nevertheless, contrary to the wishes of those who are looking at Bilawal to fight back, the truth is, despite his animated arrival, he is also conscious of the fact that on his own (or without the party’s machinery controlled by his father), he is just a loud vessel; a busy Twitter handle, at best.

PPP leaders Qamar Zaman Kaira and Sherry Rehman gave contradictory statement regarding Benazir Bhutto's will.
ISLAMABAD: At a time when news of differences between Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto are circulating in the media, the party faces another controversy as the central leadership seems divided over Benazir Bhutto’s will.
Qamar Zaman Kaira, the Central Secretary Information of the PPP claims that Benazir had left two different wills in the name of her husband Asif Ali Zardari.
“The first will was regarding the party, and for being a matter of public interest Asif Zardari made it public,” Kaira said while talking to DawnNews.

The PPP spokesman divulged that Asif Zardari holds another will of Benazir’s which regards their family matters.
Kaira disclosed that in the second will the late premier named Asif Zardari as her successor, but he instead named Bilawal for the position.
“Benazir’s family will had nothing to do with the PPP,” he said.
He also dispelled the impression of differences between Zardari and Bilawal, although he did say that difference of opinion does exist.
Kaira claimed that news of differences are part of conspiracy against the party.
“Conspiracies have also been hatched against the PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and the marriage of Benazir and Zardari,” he said.
On the other hand, PPP leader and former MNA Sherry Rehman has shrugged the statement aside, saying that Benazir had made only one will.
Rehman said that she saw Benazir’s will after her assassination in 2007 and was adamant that the late prime minister only had one.
“Benazir Bhutto had only one will which I saw myself,” DawnNews quoted her as saying.
Benazir was assassinated in a gun-and-bomb attack outside Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh on December 27, 2007. She was killed after addressing an election campaign rally in the city.
Days after the assassination, the PPP leadership had announced that Benazir had designated her son Bilawal as chairperson of the party while her husband Asif Ali Zardari was named co-chairperson.
Zardari later took leadership of the party while Bilawal proceeded to finish his studies at Oxford.
The PPP co-chairperson later was elected Pakistan president in 2008 and served till 2013 in that position
Re: Benazir had nominated me her political heir : Zardari
So much for being *Pakistan's People's Party *standing for democracy.
None of the old PPP stalwarts who went through jail and torture are good enough for party's leadership. Regardless of their experience and services, they must all bow down to some young Bhutto Zardari hybrid Clown Prince because a bogus will said so and this is how this how democracy works according to pathetic people's party
Re: Benazir had nominated me her political heir : Zardari
Honestly, Pakistan has person based parties.
PMLN is "owned" by Sharif Brothers.
PPP is "owned" by bhutto family.
PMLQ is owned by Chaudhary brothers.
APML is owned by Mush
AMLP is owned by Shiekh Rasheed
PTI is IK's party.
MQM is owned by Bhai.
ANP is owned by Wali khan family
PAkistan yet doesnt have ideology based parties where leaders dont matter. So it doesnt matter if BB gave her party which she inherited from her father to her son or husband. Should not be much surprise for anyone.
PS. India fares a bit better but not a whole lot. BJP is truely democraitic major party (AAP is there but too small), Congress is currently owned by nehru family but not as strongly as BB owned her party. Situation is not too good in rest of our neighbours. I say give it some time and it will change.

Many idiots will ignore the facts you presented, and pretend it only relates to the PPP.
Re: Benazir had nominated me her political heir : Zardari
Of course, it only relates to pathetic PPP since this is the only party that claims to democratic and people's party yet choose leaders on the basis of surname. In other major parties, the founding leadership is still there, and that makes all the difference. Say whatever, but PPP was the first party to face leadership challenges, and they have failed miserably and thank God for that.
In Pakistan, we had to start somewhere and it's a good thing that Pakistanis started off by rejecting the Bhutto romance. The rest of the change will automatically follow. Let's defeat one curse at a time.

I don't know if there was a will but what about benazir's ascension to PPP? Bhutto, by hook or crook, fought to start a new party but benazir wasn't even worth a speck before she became "leader" of PPP.
