the government says bullets didn't hit Benazir. Could the killer miss at that range? at a meter away at most?
The government was claiming it was an assault rifle and fired from a distance.
1. They are trying to deny her martyrdom by trying to prove that no weapon hit her.
2. They are trying to obsolve themselves of the security lapse by asserting she brought it on herself by coming out of the sunroof.
CNN national security analyst Ken Robinson, who worked in U.S. intelligence in Pakistan during the Clinton administration, said he suspects Bhutto's enemies are attempting to control her legacy by minimizing the attack's role in her demise.
"They're trying to deny her a martyr's death, and in Islam, that's pretty important," Robinson said.
Bhutto he said, threatens to become more influential in death than she was in life. "Her torch burns bright now forever. She's forever young; she's forever brave, challenging against all odds the party in power and challenging the military and Islamic extremism."
Only if Bhutto's family allows an autopsy, said Robinson, will the world know for certain the medical reasons behind her death. The Associated Press, quoting Cabinet sources, said Bhutto's husband, Asif Ali Zardari, refused to permit an autopsy before she was laid to rest Friday.

**it doesn't need a weapon, if she died as a result of explosion, either by a pallet or by the head injury, it simply doesn't make a damn difference.

sad but true, she brought it on to herself. I am not saying that there were no security holes, but the RISK could be minimised by taking appropriate actions.
PS: have you ever been to any POLITICAL rally and been THAT close to the main stream political leader like Benazeer, ESPECIALLY when they are on move? I will be surprised to see if you can keep yourself on foot, let alone AIMING and then FIRING at her. :) it's easily said than done.*
Dude you are dumber than a stick. This video was released by the Pak govt earlier today with COMMENTARY on it highlighting the pistol holding man and how he fired thrice at Benazir. They also said that apparently Benazir missed all three shots and fracture in her face was caused by getting hit by something hard. Well done Sherlock!
First of all, I am really surprised that you want to argue over it. As discussed earlier at length, it's a non-issue whether the bullets hit her or not.
But yes, it was very easy for him to miss her. She was standing in a HIGH SUV, and he was on the REAR LEFT side of the SUV, making a very sharp angle for the line of aim. Furthermore, there was plenty of pushing and shoving. He'd have to be extremely capable to hit Benazir in such circumstances. It's not a surprise that he missed her.

I rarely post here, but I am baffled by one statement of the govt guy giving the press conference. He quotes " the doctors found no foreign body in benezirs body". How is he so sure when there was no autopsy done. They have to break open the skull test its contents for gunpowder. Were these done. To me it seems the govt is in a hurry to do something. I dont know what. It smells too fishy.
Pakistanis really need to get busy with their lives. It seems we don't have a lot of stuff to do except getting all emotional about politics. BB was a great figure, but her achievements for Pak are naught. She achieved zilch. Other leaders, WITH ALL THEIR FLAWS, like Musharraf, achieved more and deserve the support rather than the mass-rampaging which is going on.

zardari refused an autopsy!!!!!!!
he is behind benazir's death
why would'nt zardari allow the truth to come out
he is involved in this.
The investigation should focus on everyone. from the body guards hired to the people who have been closest to her. If you got nothing to hide, you won't sweat and mind being questioned. And this should go the the highest levels of Govt as well, because the smoking gun is somewhere else in my opinion.
