We are all slaves of our beliefs. Our beliefs control us. Our thoughts, our minds and our actions.
Beliefs are not necessarily true. You just have to believe them blindly. Just look at all the hot arguments going on this forum and most of them have to be closed or removed by moderators(most of them are also slaves of their own beliefs).
A blind faith or belief is also called religion.
Belief is not what mind possesses, it is what possesses the mind!
Some scattered thoughts.
I was trying to gather claims from opinions, observations from facts & suggestions in what you said above.
Would you please clarify your point a little more...
Humanity First! Though I give you the right to disagree ...
They may seem scattered but bottom line is what my signature states.
To elaborate, there are two psychological way our mind thinks.
One way is to learn from scratch. It is the way we learn all our life. we start speaking, reading and writing. We learn something every day of our lives which collects as complete organised thoughts about everything in our lives and the world around us.
Now at this point, anything new or new concepts we learn, we examine it on the basis of our basic already learned knowledge. In other words our mind forms a concept about it based on existing knowledge.
Other way to learn is to have a preformed thought(not a learned or observed thought) and then try to examine anything new or new concept based upon our previous preformed thought and try to reject or accept new philosophies in the context of our preformed thought.
To apply this observation to the religious conflicts. All our religious knowledge is based upon what we have been tought since childhood and what we observe our elders, mentors and teachers doing. We just automatically assume that this is the right way and start following it.** These beliefs control our minds and hamper mind to think freely and naturally**
One of the most common conflict I see on this forum is argument between shia and sunni. Followers of both groups support their beliefs vehemently. ** It is almost as if they are possessed by their beliefs and it restricts their free thinking and they are unable to judge and examine their own thought process about right and wrong.**
Belief is not what mind possesses, it is what possesses the mind!
So, are you claiming that all the people who argue in their faith, believe in their faith blindly? Each & Every one of them?

Still, I am looking for solutions in your post. You just proved it to be a Human nature, or that’s how I understood you. Care to clarify a little more?
To the first question, Yes.
To the second question. I am deeply embarrassed and totally exposed. I am not a scholar or anything close to it. Sorry.
But would love to answer more straight forward questions posed and designed for simple minds.
Belief is not what mind possesses, it is what possesses the mind!
Sorry, but I have to disagree! As I can't tell from the arguments if the people making them are stubborn due to being blind or do they have sound justification of their belief.
If you take a look at the people who instantly joined AnHazoor (saw) when he claimed to be the Prophet of Allah, you will find that none ever asked for arguments! Would you consider them blind as they followed him without objection on anything that he said?
A Solution: Be Patient! It takes time for people to more open and to build a culture that is tolerant of those who are not among the normal! GupShup, is not that old and with people coming and going ... it will take a lot more time-hope you will stick around.
