One thing I hear my partner say quite often is that he hates guessing what's bothering me - I should come out with it! So I eventually do and somehow he makes it all okay and takes care of it. I've never regretted being honest about anything with him - in fact, most times I realise how much of a bigger deal I was making of something that turned ridiculously minor after I shared it with him! :)
But yeah, definitely choose your words wisely.
