Being Green

How much of an effort do you make to be as enviromentally friendly as possible? Is it something that you are very conscious of or does being eco friendly seem like too much hassle?

hmmmmmm, ok I will notice myself for next few months and will answer your question then. till now havent even bothered to think if I am environment friendly or not.

My parents are very strict with the whole recycling stuff. But I find it annoying.:o As for the rest of the types of pollution, Im sure I help that by driving.I always take the car, never walk to the mall or uni.Too far.

I never ever litter and tell of my friends for littering, but that’s just about it.

I personally tend to produce copious quantities of CH4, which doesn’t exactly help the greenhouse effect :bummer:

My sister is a vegan (2 weeks now) and she ercycles everything, she has fitted energy saving lightbulbs everywhere and only used greeen friendly stuff, even pencils pens and clothes. She is a monkey and kills popele for littering. We went out today and she spent the whole time running after poeple littering.

She is green also becasue I am hotter than her.

All in all she ls green lady.

she has fitted recycling bins in her school and also in our house, she is bossy.

She is green and bossy.

As i examine myself, i do recycle many things..but i feel that i should improve my recycling skills.

I will name my first child hulk. Is that green enough for u auntie?

I try to be as much as i can..

Being environmental friendly is such a hassle, hard work, I try and try but everything just lands in that one big brown bag… :halo:

Does anyone have a compost heap at home? How do you start one up? There has to be more to it than just collating all your fruit and vegetable scraps in a bin?

Shahreen I know some people who do.But it smells so horrible.Gross.

Well I'm immune to gross smells now that I've changed about a zillion nappies. MQ can you find out perhaps any hints or tips for the perfect compost heap please?

Oh my, if you have ever been to a village or lived in one in Pakistan than your backyard is a compost heap. Too many flies and ants. In Pakistan when I lived there this past year we used to light it on fire to burn away everything. You might not smell it but your neighbors might be pretty offended by it, no more cake for you.

Actually they are the ones who have a heart attack every time I throw away an apple core and I'd feel bad about giving them my rubbish. So I figure if i give them a load of freshly decompose compost every now and then, then I'll get even more cakes.

So if the have a compost heap than why not just go dump your trash there.

The mere thought of all those mesquitoes and flies buzzing around, yikes.

Because I want my own compost heap.....I've seen some cool pink wellies that I want to buy and need a reason to justify the purchase. And I think wellies can be recycled too so technically I'm doing it to save the world.

What are pink wellies?

Shoes!

When I do something like re-use or re-cycle, there are those that laugh at my efforts and tell me that I'm simply not going to make a difference in the world.

I tell myself that I want my daughter to have the best world possible and I'm doing my share to ensure it. I don't know if what I do is making a difference, but if I thought like the others and gave up, there truly would be no hope.

That's very true Muzna, after all we have to think about the future generations that will live in the world after us.

I notice that you can get energy efficient lightbulbs.......I hadn't realised that light bulbs are unenviromentally friendly?
