being gentle and sensitive...

… why is it so foreign to people? does it have to do with a culture where all people knew and learnt is being selfish, insensitive and ingrate?

share your thoughts, if you like.

Re: being gentle and sensitive...

I sense that over a period of time , people start taking these traits as somekind of weakness.

So phrases like .. 'sahraafat kaa to zamaana he nahee hai' and people with gentleness are refered as 'wo to puraanay zamaanay kay logoN main sai haiN' ... embedded this thought in us that sharafat , kindness and being gentle are the traits of old times and once they might be considered strentghs, but now are considered weakness and personality flaws.

Re: being gentle and sensitive...

Tariq bhai, in fact that is wrong. i feel and have concern that as a society, as a people, Pakistanis are very self righteous. it bothers me to see that when you are trying to let someone know that there is a better way, they are skeptical and they wonder why someone is helpful or helping.
it is like you cant even assure them that you are a good person and you only mean to and want to be of help to them.
and thus such phrases. the more these things ought to be not given an air, they are given that.
good will is thus made suffocated.
and so, it does not get to come about.
sad. you are right, people cant be kind any longer for own disservice. they cant appreciate kindness either.
