must be a great feeling. To be honest, does it even matter who the captain is?. They win regardless. Be it Steve, Ricky or Adam the team’s performance is top class.
So, I wonder if any one of these captains can take the credit for being a winning captain. This raises another question… why only the Australian team is blessed with such a composition. I have played cricket alongside Pakistanis, Indians, Sri Lankans, West Indians, English and Aussies. I must confess that the team spirit and commaraderie displayed by the Aussies is no match to the rest of the teams. They NEVER fight with each other, always encourage a mate when he is down or out of form, and try to raise their own performance if others are having a bad patch.
I think that’s what makes Aussies so good in sports. They have eleven captains.
^and that's what make us bad guyz bcz we have like 40captains and around 20 coches :D u r absolutely right they encourage their teammates while we discourage them and have alwayz fighting against each other some would be fighting for captaincy the other would be fighting for to open the bowling
You’re prolly right there funguy…unless you’re the Aussie Olympic women’s eights rowing team (controversial cos one of them stopped rowing 200m before the end + the ongoing saga as a result - where they’re practically all fighting with the girl who stopped rowing) then i would say that every other Australian team does play with this kind of team spirit and commaraderie…
I was recently playing in a game at an indoor cricket tournament with different teams. had a match with the aussies(our team was paki), and they were all having a blast out there,,, enjoying themselves, loud, encouraging each other, applauding any efforts that people missed etc.
and our team,,, people yelling at each other, getting pissed off at dropped catches, etc. after the match... most of em pissed off at the "attitude" shown by the aussies, and them being loud and acting rude or watever..... and i was surprised.... i thought aussies were wonderful and thats how a team should be, and not like us... and i gave the team a piece of my mind... dont blame the other teams success on their behaviour (which was perfectly fine in my books),,, they are just sore losers and just like putting blames on others... khair we lost that match, but someone told me they won in the semi finals from the same team and are now in the finals, but the bottom line is,, its a whole difference of cultures i guess.
we get too emotional while playing and take everything way too seriously, in a negative way. the aussie team chirping on the field was translated as a personal insult by some of the paki players, which is quite pathetic.
well i happen to be in the same team kaka just mentioned, to be honest i was as surprised as kaka over our behaviour in the first match since one of our team members officially complained about the aussie team being too loud and cheerfull :) , but the bottom line is when we beat them in the semi final they were so frustrated like no one i have eva seen before, kicking the stumps twice in frustration and we were cheerful and loud supporting our team, i believe you need to be emotional to a certain extent to imrove your game but both of us teams over did it probably and kaka we have worked on it and its gettin betta day by day atlast when some one miss fields instead of shouting we say next time ....... by the way final is on sunday 6 pm on 7th novmeber you comin to watch .......
