My instructor was the sweetest ever - probably the nicest instructor - a 60 year old gay man who used to wear his white vest even on cold winter days. When we stopped off at a petrol station he used to buy me sweets, and when I used to make mistakes he never showed his frustrations. Bechara. I got my license on my 4th try 
maybe he should have been tougher!

DD....my first instructor was a real polite one.....i used to wonder how will he react if i ever get into an accident during learning........but later i learned he was not much cool headed rather a person slow to respond :D
khayr needless to say i failed when he was dead sure i'll pass....
then my bil...n hubby decided to call this other instructor .....he was a real short tempered man .....n literally made me cry with shouting every 3-4 minutes....often times i thought he's gonna slap me ......thankfully he never did ....n everytime after a lesson with him i kinda dropped the idea of learning anymore....
but he was a good instructor..... i passed the test after 15 days!

Roman, many girls get harassed quite a bit. There was actually a news story on like 2 weeks ago of a girl in the same district who was harassed and groped by her driving instructor - turns out that instructor had done the same to like 40 girls before her. Also, the news story said that these occurrences with driving instructors are pretty common.
So please grow up and realize that men are generally pigs, and will look for any easy way to get their hands on female flesh.

Is it tougher to pass a driving test in England that it is in the US? What is the big deal about driving?

haha…the previous one which i couldn’t pass had some two months of learning …this one was like a refresher course with a lot of shouting n yelling for ‘extra perfection’

i dont know about it being tougher, but my main issue is lack of funding. £23 a lesson with BSM and as shoes are important to me i forget to save for driving lessons. Having said that i must have wasted a few thousand pounds on driving lessons over the years.

I disliked my instructor, its about 10 years ago, so cant say why because I forgat, but he wasnt such a good teacher. Once he was bragging, while driving how one of his student made a stupid mistake and drove on a path that was not meant to be for cars! Well that student was me, he had bad memory, so he forgat that it was me. I was mad @ him but just let it go, today I would not have been so nice but that was 8 years ago and I was a beginner.

is it really hard to pass the driving test in England than here in the US?
I took 3 classes that was $60/ hr and also my brother cousin used to take me to different places to improve my road sense, and then he asked me to drive to NY that was for 3 hrs.. and after that, i passed the test...everyone was surprised because most of my friends had to take it twice to pass the test but I did it for teh first time.. but then I still can't do the parallel parking :-D
as far as my driving instructor is concerned, he was quite nice and he took me on the road in the very first lesson and I was doing the perfect three point thurn after an hour.. hehe... i think it was his style of teaching that made driving easy for me!

I'm on my 4th one this Thursday and am just about getting the steerin bit. I think they try to milk us. Spend more time talking and talking, 10 minutes spent getting to the place and back...and before you know it you've done your hour and you've done ten minutes of bleemin practical stuff.
I envy you woman.
