Misbah was wonderful. We came this close cuz of him otherwise I was getting up to leave after the 6th wicket fell.
However, I would say this and I know a lot of ppl will also share this view. He should've waited. He had four balls to play with and get his name up there with Miandad. I'm not critsizing the way he played the last shot. He was the batsman there and it was his judgement as to how that delivery had to be played. But I personally believe he should've waited another bowl or two and then went for the shot.

Misbah is the real Champion, hats off to him he actually gave hope the rest of the top order other than Imran Nazir ko lithar parhnay chahiyein.

Agree with you. Break of a delivery or two since he had that option might have given him time to concentrate on one single 6.

No fault of Misbah, he tried his absolute best.

The fault lies with that gaddha Yunus Khan that ran out our dangerous opener and then got himself out with that ugly heave.

I don't even blame Afridi. He ALWAYS plays crap strokes like that. No one expected anything else.

(Also He DOES kinda look like a young Junaid Jamshed... or an old Zayed Khan)

I am proud the way Misbah battled but I wish if he could have finish in both of the games against India. I am convinced it was pure luck of India they won the match otherwise Pakistan had it.

I am still not convinced of the last shot selection of Misbah...when you have no wicket left you DO NOT play that un-cricketing shot. Thats all.

Misbah played awsome. What a find !!!!
People who are criticizing him should lay off. He was living on edge. If that shot has gone to boundry you all will be dancing. It was pure badluck.

Exactly F&B! Even the commentators were saying that. It's just that the shot didn't connect properly, otherwise, everyone here would be praising him for the amazing shot that he played in such tense situation. There's only a split second for a batsman to make a decision as to where to play the shot and he played the shot that he thought would be a good one.

I salute him for single handedly taking the game to the last over, otherwise, the match was over after 14-15 overs.

Misbah Ul Haq performed well through out the whole tournament including today. Congrats to him and Pakistanis for a great find.
(He is 33 years old! Why didn't PCB pick up him sooner?)

Misbah has to be the find of the tournament in terms of net gain in reputation over the last 2 weeks. What I cant understand (since he is 33) is where he has been until now. Has he played for Pak before ?

better luck next time...i still cant believe Pakistan lost but well ...does he really have to play that shot when there was a fielder waiting there...i thought there was no body there and it was gonna be dream win....lol no problem...they tried their best Salute to Pakistani cricket team for a great world cup and also congrats to India for the win.

He's played 5 Tests and about 10 ODI's... Surprisingly his record is terrible.

13.33 avg in tests

but a reasonable 34 in ODI's.
