as far as i know the very originally song is the bhojpuri/folk song called londa badnaam hua naseeban tere liye. which came out well before dabbang and mr charlie (i guess)...anyhow i prefer dabbangs version, it has the beats and the rhythm...but omer sharif is a legend he was hillarious throughout this film. king of comedy god bless this man ameen

ahh the director has said "main uttar paredesh main pala barha hoon aur bachpan main ek ganna sunnta tha londa badnaam hua naseeban tere liye-so is gane munni badnaam hua ka reference wahan se aya hai"
