Before Going to Work

Those who are working… What are your makeup essentials before going to work everyday? Do you follow any special skin care regimen on daily basis and also what are your makeup rules. Does your work allow heavy makeup or what. Please share your daily makeup routine for work.

Re: Before Going to Work

When I used to work full time, this was my daily skin care/makeup regime:

  1. cleanse each morning
  2. apply moisturiser and sunscreen
  3. apply a light powder foundation (no eye makeup and just a lip balm).

Evening:

Remove foundation with makeup remover wipes, cleanse thoroughly and moisturise. On weekends, I would do some sort of face mask/scrub.

This is what I pretty much still continue to follow- I have never slept with my foundation on. I only bother with eye makeup etc when going out- I didn’t just for work.

Re: Before Going to Work

I work full time and this has been my routine for the past few years.

  1. Wash face and pat dry (I use tea tree face wash from body shop)
  2. Apply toner and let air dry (also tea tree from body shop)
  3. I sometimes apply a serum if my skin is looking especially bumpy/dry/red/icky
  4. Apply moisturizer (Clinique or Cetaphil depending on the weather and my skin condition) and sunscreen (Neutrogena)
  5. Light to Medium coverage foundation (Estee Lauder) or CC cream (Clinique) depending on how I feel that day. I sometimes finish with translucent powder (Estee Lauder) to set my face if my skin is feeling oily
  6. Eyeliner and mascara if I’m feeling especially fancy (Lacome, Clinique)
  7. I don’t really like lipstick or gloss, but I have this minty lip balm that makes my lips look rosy and pretty

I realize this sounds long-winded but I do it while getting dressed and doing my hair. The whole thing takes me as little as 10 min. My hair is what probably takes the longest to untangle (I have thick, dry-ish hair).

In the evening, I just wash my face with a makeup removing facewash (I prefer lacome, but also use Estee Lauder and Neutrogena). I don’t like the wipes because they feel like they’re scraping my skin; the only time I would use them is if I’m travelling.

I also try to scrub/exfoliate at least once a week (usually weekends).

Re: Before Going to Work

routine? hahhahahhaha

soap water, rinse … hello world I’m pretty today.

I’ve tried to start a makeup routine several times but it never lasts.
And I touch my face way to much for the makeup to last.

Re: Before Going to Work

Wow Muniya you got the same routine as me! lol…

Re: Before Going to Work

Morning:

  1. cleanse
  2. apply sunscreen lotion
  3. kajal/eye pencil
  4. lipstick

For interviews or meetings, I add the following between #1](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=1) and 2:

  • moisturizer
  • liquid foundation
  • powder to set the foundation
  • mascara

Evening:

  • wash the face when I get home from work
  • then before bed, if I am not feeling particularly lazy, I apply rose hip oil and lip balm

Re: Before Going to Work

I’ve only just started to use the Vit. C Serum, so now my routine is a bit more elaborate, otherwise I was a wash/cleanse my face, moisturize only when I absolutely needed to (dry winter skin) and apply lip balm.

A good day (in other words, when I felt like looking nicer), following the cleansing, the routine was as follows: proper moisturizing, lipliner/lipstick, mascara and eyeliner.

More elaborate than that (meaning an interview/meeting with a business partner that matters) the routine was as follows: concealer, foundation, neutral eyeshadow, lipliner/lipstick, mascara, eyeliner and blush.

Post-beginning the Vit. C serum regimen, I’ve now been cleansing, using toner, moisturizer, Vit. C. serum and sunscreen - but no make-up. I’m hoping to get a bit more brightness and suppleness in skin from the Vit.C (will be adding the Retin A soon), so that I can stay barefaced.

Re: Before Going to Work

I look like crap and that’s ok because I work from home… ba dum tss

Re: Before Going to Work

My everyday look is a CC cream or light foundation, YSL Touche eclat, blush, Naked palette + mascara on the eyes and Brow wiz on my eyebrows and a nude lipstick or gloss. Days I feel like doing a bit more makeup, I’ll do a really light winged eyeliner or a brighter lipstick.

Re: Before Going to Work

  1. Wash and pat dry face
  2. Apply sunscreen (Garnier spf 50, the kids one lol)
  3. Apply foundation (MAC Pro Longwear)
  4. Fill lips with liner (Milani) than go over with fave lippy or gloss (Again Milani right now)
  5. Lashes + mascara (Eyelure and Diorshow atm)

I’ll just run a brush thru my hair or use fingers if I’ve got curls in (I tend to play with my makeup and hair a lot more in the evenings + at weekends)

Start to finish that takes 10-15mins max

Surprised that it’s quite common to use lip colour, mascara and other products but no foundation/base..

I’d be more likely to do the opposite, foundation/base and a slick of mascara.. I can do without the other stuff but not the foundation especially.. I want my face even and without it my cheeks are lighter, around my eyes is a touch darker plus I have circles :frowning:

Re: Before Going to Work

In my field of work it’s best to keep a neutral look (minimum makeup etc.)

So the routine is usually

  • Wash face and pat dry (wait at least 10 mins before applying anything otherwise my skin gets irritated :()

  • apply daily lotion (I use Olay moisturizer - recommended by a friend and the only one which doesn’t make my skin itchy and it’s actually really good if it suits your skin, no break outs etc.)

  • apply eye serum (I think it’s from bodyshop, can’t remember name now)

  • Eye liner. I’m using one from Kiko which is waterproof. Mascara from Dior.

  • Dior lip glow

That’s it.

I avoid foundation/powders because it looks messy if they rub off on your coat, which they do.

Re: Before Going to Work

^There are quite a few foundations nowadays which don’t transfer..

Re: Before Going to Work

When i started working, I applied foundation everyday for one month and I realized that my skin started getting dull and dried as I wasn’t used to it. I finally stopped and now my skin looks so lush and smooth as I workout, eat healthy, drink a lot of water and avoid wearing foundation on daily basis.

My usual routine is this

1-Wash face with Kiko face wash or simple brand soap
2-Apply Eucerin day cream as a moisturizer
3-Apply Kiko eye liner pencil like kajal
4-And lippy is must for me, all i need is colourful lips on my face and I am done with the makeup.

If we have meetings, live briefing, conferences , lunch out days then I apply foundation, eye liner and mascara with blush and lipstick.

In the evening, I wash my face with face wash and apply Eucerin night cream. Apply lotion on my hands and feet, lip balm on my lips. If I am feeling tired or lazy, i just wash my face with water and go to bed. Sometimes, i use clinic 3 step skin care too(Exfoliating scrub, face wash, toner and moisturizer) . On weekends, I apply lush sea salt scrub and lush face mask.

Re: Before Going to Work

shower, soap and water, moisturising cream or lotion

Re: Before Going to Work

loreal bb cream

Re: Before Going to Work

I work full time and the routine is pretty basic:

  1. Wash face, pat dry
  2. Moisturizer + sun screen
  3. Touch up with light concealer wherever needed
  4. Blush (i’f im feeling it that day)
  5. I do a winged liner, it’s my staple look. lol can’t go anywhere without the liner.
  6. Lip balm.

That’s it. the make up routine takes 15-20 mins tops , get dressed and out the door.

In the evening, i scrub it all off with a mix of sugar + olive oil , it exfoliates and takes off the make up. This is do on every alternate day. The days in between, i have a light face wash from nivea. Stay squeaky clean and go to sleep

Yar…

Jarurat toh nhi pdti… Kora jyada acha lgta hai…

Re: Before Going to Work

I like to look nice majority of the time, so I did the whole elaborate thing (eye concealer, foundation, eyeliner, mascara, blush, lipstick/gloss) each day by waking up at 5am - along with a quick blow-dry to the hair every morning. I MUST wash my hair everyday or I don’t feel ‘clean’ enough

Re: Before Going to Work

^ dry shampoos? I hope your hair isn’t damaged from washing and drying everyday.
