I had no idea it was written by Bee Gul, I was gonna watch it for Maya and Ahsan anyway but now i'll definitely watch it! :D Promos looked nice I think it's shot in America.

i think neither the director nor maya were able to understand the script particularly the lead character. if you think back to the issues raised by the lead including her reasoning for breaking up with her fiancé, issue at nikah- nama getting altered against her wishes and her general frustration with her parents, these are all valid concerns but the way maya jumps up and down and delivers these dialogues like a toddler is painful to watch
I also think.its a bit unrealistic. How many girls we know who came from.Pakistan after getting married to a guy from.here to walk out of her home to go idhar udhar anjaan logon ke paas?? Doesn't make sense. Girls from.Pakistan initially have hard tone adjusting but do they really walk.out to go live with some druggie psycho friend. Their husbands are usually their only sahara in new country.

^ You'd be very surprised my friend. It happens all the time and especially with girls who have been repressed all their life. Once they leave the repressed environment, they quickly adapt to the new environment and get more daring/understand their own rights. Admittedly that usually doesn't happen within a month of the marriage but then Saman is shown as a girl who has guts and confidence.
and that's why i think neither the director nor Maya have been able to understand Saman. A person of Mehreen Jabbar or Khalid Ahmed's Caliber would have done a much better job. In fact Khalid Ahmed shares a great chemistry with Bee Gul and includes her in the production of her plays. That's probably why he is able to translate her vision so well to the screen.
Oh well. I still love Bee Gul and am hoping she will continue to do more commercial plays with other directors
No I meant who does that within few weeks of landing here with no real source of finances. Do you know someone doree who did that, just landed. 3 din.lar ke shohar ke sath guzaray and then walked out. Na ghar waloon ko fikar na husband ko. Please tell me if you know someone who did that.
I know people who would've done this only if they gave from.Pakistan, lived here for little longer, understood their rights, not being dependent on anyone. Idk I still say all of I this is a bit exaggeration.
Did they mention in the drama it was her first visit to USA?. I am not following it now but Maya Ali comes from a family who would take their kids abroad every now and then on vacations. And her character is not of a repressed girl either.

Im really confused as to the direction this drama is supposed to take. Its all a bit wishy washy.
The way Maya talks is so annoying. Especially when she says the word "Phone".
Shes really pretty but needs to smile more! All she ever does in her dramas is look annoyed (albeit it may be a part of her character). She was so good in Aunn Zara.
