No you are not the only one…I iron my sheets too…
But I iron just one at a time …I fold them and put them away after taking them out of the dryer and then when needed I can iron whichever I want…
I have ironed them on the iron stand,kitchen counter and also after laying them on the bed…all seem to work fine for me and it doesnt take that long…
